Deja X1E? The feeling you have bought and tried this computer before? ;)

As mentioned before, I called up support to see how a complete return procedure worked and they said that you had to go through support first to try to solve the issue before they would give you an RMA number. I wonder how he did it?

The way to do it is insisting that you have a 30 day no-strings-attached return period and there is nothing in the terms of that policy that says you are required to talk to tech support. Simply refuse them when they say they need to transfer you to tech support and demand that they just send you the RMA as they are required by the terms of their policy to do. Be polite, but be firm. If they keep insisting that you have to talk to tech support, tell them that you wish to speak with a supervisor. You definitely aren't required to talk to tech support for an RMA simply for a return. You can return it because you don't like the shade of black of the angle of the ThinkPad logo.

Thought so, but needed verification. Thanks ;) My 30 days came and went 2 weeks ago. No issues for me.

Why? You hate the fan noise and while I don't play many 4k videos I believe the fans do come on for those

It seems you just cannot commit, don't you have a different thinkpad right now?

I haven’t tested x1e with bios 1.19 update.

Easy if within 30 days.

Do you have any comprehension of how wasteful you are being? None of this is free, the notebook will still spool up the fans exactly the same as any other with a dGPU Such high performance components need active cooling simple as that. In the time you have wasted my GL703GS & Switch 5 have paid for themselves countless times over, are they perfect NO. Your struggling with a 2010 MBP that by your own admission that is negatively impacting your work, for what; fingerprints & fan noise while watching YT...

As many have stated what you want currently does not exist. I have little doubt another X1E will be yet again a victim in the chain of endless returns. Most do their homework and purchase what works best for their priorities as all notebooks are compromised by their very nature, or is your strategy to purchase and return on every BIOS and or system update...

The boy who cried Wolf, might be well worth a read...

Lenovo contacted me and suggested me to buy it and try it. They claimed that alternation between dead silent and jet engine issue has fixed.

THEY *WANT* Me TO GIVE THEM A SECOND CHANCE!

If you are not happy with that, go to complain them!

I was trying the Lenovo X1 Extreme out. Should have stuck with it honestly, rather than going back to the MBP, but the Military Store discount and extended holiday return period drew me back in.

But when I called for the RMA for the one I had they tried to insist I needed to speak to tech support first. I insisted I did not and as soon as I asked to speak to a supervisor he asked if I could hold for a moment and returned with the RMA :)

Personally I'm perfectly happy with my choice of hardware, delivers exactly as expected, no returns required...
