I am sick of all this type casting, with only white men being short listed for the role.

Whoopi Goldberg would be perfect for the role, she is well loved and renowned for sister act (1 and 2) and even has a jewish sounding last name.

Whoopi for the Job(s)

I think that's a fantastic idea! :D

We don't need another cheesy, inaccurate film, attempting to capture the essence of Steve Jobs without really understanding anything about him.

The only enjoyable portrayal of Steve was in the movie Pirates of Silicon Valley, which was made back in 1999.

The only way you could get a movie made where a white male character is played by a black woman would be to have Marvel produce it.

I was kind of hoping for Bale to do this. But something tells me this is not the kind of role Bale would be interested in.

This movie is based on the screenplay by Aaron Sorkin, arguably the greatest screenwriter of the last 20 years, which is based on the very intimate and well-written biography written by Walter Isaacson, arguably one of the best biographers in recent memory. Steve Wozniak is also an advisors, who may know a thing or two about Steve Jobs. Pirates is indeed good, but it missed Jobs's most successful period.

No doubt she'd be great for just about any movie but I don't think it's racist to want someone who looks like the actual person (Leonard DiCaprio sure doesn't, neither do Ben Affleck or Matt Damon). But, then again, it's hard to find a great actor who happens to look like a certain person. Maybe someone of Syrian extraction like Jobs?

Now if a movie is not a biography, then I think it should be wide open to different types of actors of any race of gender.

Might as well be Nic Cage for all I care. I haven't watched any of the docs or films so far. I think I agree it really needs to be an unknown.

Do we really need ANOTHER Jobs movie?

Yeah, Hollywood. Do we really need ANOTHER Jobs biopic, of which there has been exactly one, which starred that incredible paragon of acting talent, Ashton Kutcher?

It's not like Aaron Sorkin has ever written anything successful or critically acclaimed. And besides, what has this Danny Boyle ever done?

They should hire that guy who directed the best picture winning Slumdog Millionare. Didn't he also win best director?

Or maybe they should hire the guy who directed 28 Days Later. God, that movie's good.

Whoever those guys are, they should hire either one of them.

Yes, because the last one starred Ashton Kutcher...

Aaron Sorkin is an amazing writer and I'm excited to see what he's done with this script. If he can make a movie about Facebook interesting, then he can certainly do the Jobs story correctly.

And if they can get Noah Wylie to star it, they can assure it will be produced correctly.

There is an amazing opportunity here. Noah Wylie played Steve in Pirates of Silicon Valley. Steve as impressed enough he actually had Noah Wylie play him again during the first 5 minutes of an actual Mac World keynote.

If they can get Noah Wylie to play Steve and if they could include that keynote as a scene in the movie it would be great. The only challenge left after that would be finding somebody to play Noah Wylie playing Steve Jobs since the real Noah Wylie would be busy playing Steve Jobs. :D

I want 50 cent to play Steve Jobs

So this way it'll be the last one ever made. Give it a rest!

"Pirate of Silicone Valley" was all we needed.

Too bad. But I have a feeling the movie will be crap with or without Leonardo.
