Really? People hating DiCaprio?

  • The Wolf of Wall Street
  • The Great Gatsby
  • Django Unchained
  • Inception
  • Shutter Island
  • Blood Diamond
  • Departed
  • Aviator
  • Catch Me If You Can

Sorry, but most of the movies he was in were just awesome, playing very different characters. So get over that Titanic ******** that still comes to your minds when his name is dropped. I'm pretty sure he would have done an awesome job.

Yeah, Hollywood. Do we really need ANOTHER Jobs biopic, of which there has been exactly one, which starred that incredible paragon of acting talent, Ashton Kutcher?

Don't forget this one:

This movie is based on the screenplay by Aaron Sorkin, arguably the greatest screenwriter of the last 20 years, which is based on the very intimate and well-written biography written by Walter Isaacson, arguably one of the best biographers in recent memory. Steve Wozniak is also an advisors, who may know a thing or two about Steve Jobs. Pirates is indeed good, but it missed Jobs's most successful period.

Fair enough. I didn't know the background, I just assumed it was another Steve Jobs movies.

A List Actors

I think people are fed up with A list actors. Every trailer I watch, my god, same actors over and over :cool:again. That business model is dead. It's time for change already!!!!

Noah Wyle would be perfect and it would feel right, and he has experience!

Come on, can we start a petition or something?

And if they can get Noah Wylie to star it, they can assure it will be produced correctly.

There is an amazing opportunity here. Noah Wylie played Steve in Pirates of Silicon Valley. Steve as impressed enough he actually had Noah Wylie play him again during the first 5 minutes of an actual Mac World keynote.

If they can get Noah Wylie to play Steve and if they could include that keynote as a scene in the movie it would be great. The only challenge left after that would be finding somebody to play Noah Wylie playing Steve Jobs since the real Noah Wylie would be busy playing Steve Jobs. :D

So this way it'll be the last one ever made. Give it a rest!

"Pirate of Silicone Valley" was all we needed.

It's the same business model that's been used since movies began, they're not going to change what isn't broken.

Bale would prepare for the role by founding a company that would ultimately put Apple out of business.

This movie STILL hasn't started filming?
Talk about missed opportunity.

Dude, you're talking about a man's death as an opportunity. Even though you're right that's how Sony sees it.

Anyway, the movie, Titanic was pretty successful, you could say 90 odd years was, missing the boat.

----------

Bale gets my vote, I wasn't keen on him but the way he blew up on set, with the unprofessional sound guy, he'd be perfect.

That's what I was thinking. Someone out there must look like him and be a budding actor. Sort of a Gone With The Wind thing and Vivien Leigh.

In Gone with the Wind, they already had Clark Gable... Such an unknown ;-), he was the headliner.

The main attractions before the movie were
- Gable as the star
- The book was a huge best seller
- This was an color event movie with a large budget

Any good attractive actress could fill the role of Scarlett O hara; she wouldn't be the big draw that's for sure.

A Job movie needs a bit more to draw people in. A marquis excellent actor like Bale would be fantastic; he's my first choice.

Perhaps I'm the only one, but I though Lee Pace played a good Jobseque character in Halt and Catch Fire? I vote him, not one these A-list action stars. They're not filming The Departed!

Pop a bow tie on him for 1984 and a turtle neck on him for everything else and I think he'd do it justice.

Yes, because the last one starred Ashton Kutcher...

Aaron Sorkin is an amazing writer and I'm excited to see what he's done with this script. If he can make a movie about Facebook interesting, then he can certainly do the Jobs story correctly.
+The West Wing.

It would be disrespectful to the widow to leave the Ashton Kutcher version as the final word...

It's trendy to hate on DiCaprio (and Tom Cruise), dontcha know?

For the record, I agree with you. But for a large segment of our population, it's easier and safer to hate on something than to put yourself out there and openly like something.

Hmm. I've always hated DiCaprio. Since as long as I've been aware of him anyway... a good 20 years. I didn't know it was a trend now. I don't really know why... I just don't like the guy. I feel the same way about George Clooney. I almost turned off Gravity after renting it without knowing he was in it. Thankfully his screen time was extremely limited. Although in retrospect it wouldn't have been a bad decision to turn off Gravity after the first 10 mins :p That said... I won't avoid a movie because DiCaprio is in it. I WILL refuse to watch anything with Clooney though.

Yeah, we need one written by a top-grade writer. Just one more.

Agreed. The Ashton Kutcher movie doesn't count.

Has to be Bale.

Bale as Jobs would be absolutely terrifying. I want to see that.

And if they can get Noah Wylie to star it, they can assure it will be produced correctly.

I also would watch the **** out of that.

I don't really care about the Jobs movie, but now I'm kind of curious to see how a movie called "The Accountant" is going to be made into a thriller.

I dont know why nobody is at least throwing out the name of the man with 3 Oscars who is a Top 3 actor alive.

He's around the same age, height, and build as Jobs and looks close enough, definitely closer than anyone else named.

Bale would bring his menacing 50-yard stare and no doubt could really project the man's natural arrogance and almost mystical personal conviction.

noah wylie was great with the esoteric Jobs...the satisfied smirk and the detached "i'm on another plane than you right now" glance

Lee Pace would be an interesting choice. He's shown he can play a magnetic bastard....

I wonder who Woz would choose. Let's face it. If anyone would know, it would be him

At this rate Nic Cage will play Jobs with Michael Bay directing when this movie finally releases.
