Does the world really need yet another film glorifying and worshiping Steve Jobs? I'm glad Leo withdrew, not happy Danny Boyle is doing this when he could be making an original film instead.

Or a film that just tells some (dramatized) history behind some of Apple's and Job's defining moments moments.

Thank god... Steve Jobs on the big screen is getting old and played out. DiCaprio is too good to waste his talents on a tired theme. I want to see him in something that's... You know... Good.
There have clearly been so many big screen movies about Steve...like 1 or something. I mean that's way more than like Batman with like dozens that is clearly old and played out and no one watches those movies, they just fail right away.

Surprised by all of the DiCaprio hate. He is one of the better actors out there.

...reminds me of tom cruise hate. Their personal life may be strange, but they are great actors and have great roles.

DiCrapio is a good actor but Tom Cruise is the worst actor I have ever seen

You're quite delusional if you think a series of Jobs movies is going to rival the success of batman. If you look outside your own little box, you'll see that most of the world doesn't care as much as you do

Thank god. Dicaprio would have been a terrible choice for this role. He just plays himself in every role. I've never seen him really inhabit a character.

If Christian Bale is cast, I probably won't bother to see it, either. I'm really sick of seeing him in every other movie these days, and he's overrated.

I believe they refer to an observation like that as "missing the forest for the trees".

While you can market anything, I really do not see Steve Jobs significant enough to have a movie of his own. I think the calls to make a Steve Jobs movie is just for capitalist reasons.

Movies are supposed to be about people who are seriously significant in human history with unique tales like presidents and kings not about CEOs.

In the case of Steve Jobs a good documentary or book is more than enough as a homage to the person who played a significant role into shaping the personal computer.

I have listened to his his book by Isaacson and I bet its better than any movie they will make.

If you are a sifi fan I do not see how you can say that with a straight face. He is easily the best sifi actor of this generation with roles in minority report, war of the worlds, oblivion, edge of tomorrow

I wonder why it seems to be studios pushing for these movies.

David Fincher and Christian Bale would make an awesome pairing, however.

Movies are supposed to be about entertainment. The Social Network did quite well and was found to be an interesting movie by quite a few.

Considering I was merely elaborating on a comment you made, you must be referring to yourself?

And he sucked in all of them.

I guess I'm the only one who kind of liked Jobs and thought Ashton was surprisingly good.

Actually, Ashton was amazingly good compared to my expectations. It was the script that was the problem.

At first I laughed about Tom Cruise, however, the more I think about it, I think he could pull it off. Jobs was a salesman... he could sell anyone his ideas. Cruise has the same abilities. I think he might channel Jobs excellently.

From Esquire:

As an actor, Cruise has always been less an artist and more like a salesman. Not in the sense of selling you a movie as a product, but as a transporting experience.

To each their own. Most would agree he is a great actor. By most, I mean the critics.

When I see critics praising Cruise it's basically saying he didn't completely suck. I have never seen a critic refer to him as a good actor. He isn't

I don't really care about the Jobs movie, but now I'm kind of curious to see how a movie called "The Accountant" is going to be made into a thriller.

The books didn't balance and he didn't care!!!

Bale would prepare for the role by founding a company that would ultimately put Apple out of business.

Gotta love his dedication to the roles he plays :D

I agree about DeCaprio being a good actor. But, IMO, Cruise isn't very good as he always just plays Tom Cruise playing an actor.

I WILL refuse to watch anything with Clooney though.

Clooney was great in 'Oh Brother Where Art Thou'. Also excellent in 'Good Night and Good Luck' which he directed and co-wrote.

I agree with you, although 'worst actor' may be going a bit far.

Not great movies... and his acting is the same in all of them.
