In all likelihood, the shipments will arrive a day or two early. This is done to avoid the possibility of an unavoidable delay due to a storm, power outage, wildfire, attack, etc.....

I think it is done so that their shipping department is not overloaded on the same day and the same for number of trucks FedEx must send to pick up all these shipments. Just my thoughts.

Mine only says:

Voraussichtliche Versandzeit: OCTOBER 26TH
(Estimated Shipping date : October 26th)

Schnellversand (EMEA)
(Quickdelivery [Europe, Middle-east and Africa])

Prepared for Shipment

Product Qty. 1
MAC OS X 10.5 RETAIL-INT
Ships by: DELIVERS ON OCTOBER 26TH

As of tonight the status changed from not yet shipped to prepared for shipment; holy bits and bytes Batman, this is exciting.

My fingers have been crossed all along for a Thursday delivery; especially if it came from far away; but it it is coming from Calif as suggested in another post, then I suspect the farther shipments will be sent out first... Oh well, I just hope it is not any later then Friday. (My FedEx driver tends to bring computer shipments by a day early as I suspect he must be one of us). He told me one time that he knows I wait for these shipments... lol God bless him and drivers everywhere.

Just ordered from amazon uk with express delivery.

My order with Apple (UK) had an estimated ship date of the 26th and delivery of 29th, so I just cancelled and ordered with Amazon.co.uk, which was a few pennies cheaper with overnight delivery and the estimated ship date is the 24th!

My Amazon order also says that it will ship on the 24th for delivery on the 26th.
My last Amazon order was for The Orange Box, which had a ship date of 17th and a delivery by the 19th. It was shipped on the 17th, and arrived a day early on the 18th. Hopefully the same will happen with my Leopard order.

What is your estimated delivery date?

Why is it that Apple UK always do this? I remember cancelling my pre-ordered Panther family pack after calling them and finding out it wouldn't arrive for nearly a week after launch. Considering I live literally around the corner from a fully stocked Micro Anvika it seemed stupid to wait.

This time it's different though as it's an Up-to-date price. Besides, I'm getting married next weekend, so bigger things to think about :)

I find it a little odd that your order shipped via FedEx Home Delivery, when the bulk of Leopard orders appear to be shipping FedEx Overnight. That's a competely different subset of FedEx.
