I'm in the states and my copy shipped this morning and I have not been charged for it yet. Maybe they forgot . . . I can dream can't I

The weird thing is that Apple did put a pending transaction up on my account the day I ordered, and it stayed there for a few days, then expired. Haven't seen a charge since...and, yes, we can dream;)

Heres a question. So i was all excited thinking wow it shipped at 6am, but now, it says picked up at 6 (from Texas) and then 3:24, left origin (same place in texas). Why did it take so long?

Because they have to sort several thousand packages.

Figures! I finally get my ship notice from Apple, checked status at FedEx and saw this. Delivery now states November 7???? I'm cursed!!!!

Am i happy not to order Leopard but to reserve it on a local Apple store. Now i not have to worry bycose tomorrow at 6 pm I am sure I get my Leopard :)

Okay, I hope you'll get your copy tomorrow my friend ;)

If only we had an Apple store in this country then I would be sure of getting my Leopard tomorrow too!:)

Canadians shafted again

I find it really annoying that Apple advertised on their Canada store that Leopard will be delivered by the 26th, and now we're finding that Apple shafted their Canadian customers by shipping it out 5-7 day ground service with Purolator.

I swear, if it doesn't arrive tomorrow, I'm firing up Azurius.

Leopard shipped from Ontario Canada and will be arriving in Worcester, MA by 10:30A tomorrow, yaaaaayyy!!!!:)

Ontario, California isn't it? This isn't an international package.

(yes I know Ontario is a province in Canada...it's also a city in California)

I think it will be alright. I called Purolator this morning and they said it was shipping ground. I subsequently called Apple who checked with Purolator, and they said they have no way of knowing how it will be shipped until the package is handed off at the border, at which point it will be priority overnite.

Well, considering that it's supposedly been on a Purolator truck since 8:30am yesterday, and in 36 hours or so, it hasn't managed to reach the border, and it's getting late today, I'm not holding my breath.

If what you're saying is true, then unless it reaches the border in the next couple of hours, "priority overnight" from the border means Monday to most Canadians, which is not what I signed up for.

They billed my credit card under false pretenses in that case, in which case, I don't feel guilty to torrent it, since I've already paid for it.

WTF? I live literally 10 minutes away from Schaumburg, IL, yet at 6 AM it was picked up in Memphis, TN, and the last update was "Arrived at FedEx location" at 11:30 this morning, but still in Memphis, TN. Why are people in like Cali getting it from Schaumburg but not me? And why hasn't it moved since 11?

Apple says Friday for Canada

I spoke first with Purolator this AM, and they told me it would not arrive until next Tuesday, but also told me that it was at the border as of 10 AM CST. I then phoned Apple, and they said Purolator is just holding back on the actual date to be safe and that it should arrive in Winnipeg tomorrow. I still however have no package status on Purolator's website. STUPID.

Yeah, mines the same way

That is strange. I am getting the Schaumburg location, though. (& I live in PA)

That's not very re-assuring, considering we're talking about Purolator here. If they're saying Tuesday, it probably means next Thursday.

Purolator is a company in the business of missing expectations, and at the very least, mitigating disappointment.

I'm just much more touchy given Apple's long history of making Canada an afterthought in all it's product launches. Especially when for so long, they didn't even give us a fair exchange rate on much of their products, and that was if the product was even available in Canada at launch.

Most other US companies seem to do parallel launches of products in Canada without a hitch. It's just that when it comes to Apple, they just don't give a ****.

Tee hee!

Well, if it weren't for Celine Dion and Alanis running their fingernails down our collective chalkboard, Canada wouldn't even be up to the level of afterthought.

Ditto, in Vancouver, and "in transit in US". Could it be less specific? Plus according to apple it was shipped via "priority overnite" but according to purolator it says Ground.

Since my iPod Touch has been stuck in Ontario in customs for 4 days I am not holding my breath.

C'mon apple give me at least one new toy for the weekend!

That makes for three of us from Vancouver with the same shipping status.

I hate Purolator.

Well, maybe you guys should stop talking trash about the USA all the time.:p

Just Kidding so settle down.

poo apple canada

so i called apple and they even said themselves that my order would probably not get here on time.
it was shipped out oct 24th via purolator (8:30am) and its still in "transit in U.S."

i basically told them that when i purchased this i thought i would be receiving it on the 26th and the agent simply told me that he was very sorry but would gladly send me return instructions (paid by apple) and i could just return it once it gets here and go pick it up at the store tomorrow.

im kinda bummed out but then again this kinda worked out for the best since i just found out U of T bookstore is finally selling Leopard for 99$ (when i called last week they told me 115$) so i'll probs just head there tomorrow at 6pm.

i suggest that Canadians who got their order shipped from the U.S (since for some odd reasons people in the States have been getting shipping info from Ontario Canada) give apple a call and ask them for an update.

thats all.
cheers

So let me get this straight. Apple promised something in their online advertising, that compelled me to pull my credit card out of my wallet and make the purchase then-and-there. So I did.

Now I'm finding out, that the very thing that compelled me to do that, which was the promised delivery date, is being reneged upon.

Their solution to this, is for me to go to the store, buy a second copy and float another $200+ on my credit card, and send the first copy back via Purolator and wait for them to get it back in order to refund the first transaction.

You know, Bittorrent sounds like a much better option to me right now. If they catch me, hopefully I'll have my real copy and bill of lading in hand by then for my defense. =)

Live in Arkansas

My copy of Leopard is shipping from Middletown, PA. It was picked up at 2:08 PM this afternoon. I'll have my copy in the morning.

I think with overnight shipping they do not update it as often as they do with ground and other options. Since there is only around a 24 hour shipping time they probably don't find it necessary to update every step like they would with something shipping for 5 days... just a guess.

Vancouver, BC Update
Purolator now states 'Received' 19:22 and 'Shipment in Transit' 19:23
still pretty vague but at least it's something...

edit - 'Received' in Toronto according to purolatorusa.com
