It is maybe old news for some people, but I really like this screenshot. It shows what a pc looks like when browsing a network in the new finder: a CRT with a BSOD :p

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

i think it would be neat to try that out

It was crap. Nothing useful about that version... it was painfully slow and nothing was compatible with it at the time. The only reason I ever booted into OS X when I had OS 10.0 was to show someone the genie effect, then I would boot back into OS 9 to get real work done. OS X was a dog in the beginning but, now-a-days it gets faster with every release (unlike Windows).

Anyone else think the 2D Dock gets kinda lost on a darker background. I mean, that's way too dark. I'd prefer the semi-transparent white instead of the semi-transparent black.

If you actually use the dock, then why not go back to windows?

If you don't use the dock, then why don't you **** already and go use linux and stop bashing people who actually use the functionality of the operating system?
Your posts contain absolutely no value, so why bother? If you're going to state your opinion that the dock sucks, give a reason and offer up an explanation of your alternate method, otherwise just let it rest and move on.

I guess that's the purpose of the thin outline... to help distinguish it from darker backgrounds. I use ClearDock, however, which completely does away with the dock background, so I'm used to just having icons down there now... I wonder how it'll be having the Leopard shelf down there

I remember it was shown by Jobs at one of his little previews. Except then it was Purple

He's using the Graphite appearance theme, which makes everything appear more muted in general- stuff that's normally blue appears grey, etc.

I know I'll have it in 18 hours...but can anyone snap me a few pics of the new Front Row?

Speaking of Front Row, I saw someone comment that the transition effect going into Front Row is now just a fade instead of the desktop being pushed back into the desktop for Front Row to slide into place? What's up with that?

Yeah, that's true ... It's less "eye-candyish" now. Also in the old Frontrow the music used to keep playing, but this does not happen anymore in the Leopard version. In fact, even just going back a menu in Frontrow stops the music instantly.

I miss the old Frontrow :(

Just wondering, what happens to brushed apps, like iLife 05 which is what I still have? (No monies to upgrade that, too)

I have been wondering about something related to this and what youve said might explain it... The original front-row was just a front-end that used to launch iTunes/iPhoto or whatever in the background and push the content into front row. This is why the music kept on playing..

The new frontrow, being based on the AppleTV code is standalone.. it might use shared elements but I doubt it actually launches the apps in the background..

Can anyone with leopard installed confirm this?

Hopefully they'll fix this as that is gonna be really, really annoying.

Worst operating system EVER.

My first PC was running ME and I felt as though someone had shoved a rake up my arse and stolen my wallet.

2000 was a huge improvement, though.

haha so true. I remember buying ME & ME Plus, and after I installed it my system went to hell. I was depressed & pissed when I went back to 98.

I was so, so happy upgrading to 2000. Kind of like an abused dog will love someone simply for not kicking them around the house.
