That's what this tech is for! :) I don;t follow about the skype comment. What keeps your dad from walking around with skype?

I guess I was just pointing out how FT is more mobile. It's a bit easier to walk around or even convenient to have a phone in hand than tab or laptop.

Had my 4S for a month now, haven't used Facetime. My uncle wanted to try it with me but we weren't in a place with wifi so we couldn't.

I use it 2-3 times per week. I work mostly in a basement and cellular networks do not reach there. However, there is WiFi connectivity. My family (out of state and overseas) can reach me through FaceTime from either their Macs or iOS devices.

I use Facetime and Skype all the time.

My wife has my previous iPhone 4 (32GB) and I have a new 4S (32GB) and we have two kids.

Due to my work hours my oldest has to go to sleep when I'm not there often so my wife constantly calls me up and depending if I'm on WiFi or not we'll Skype or Facetime. We prefer Facetime as it's a bit better experience, but both work.

We also use it daily, in addition, when my wife is at work so my daughter can video call her and tell her about her school day (she's in Kindergarten so she loves telling us about what she did).

I admit, though, if I didn't have kids I probably wouldn't use it as often.

Just used it tonight in fact. My dad called and wanted to show me something he got for his dogs and as soon as we connected I happened to have my 9 month old on my lap giving her a bottle and he lit up getting to see her.

My parents LOVE it for that very reason. My in-laws haven't used it yet but I know even my luddite mother-in-law will absolutely love it to be able to see my daughter all the time.

I'm gonna use facetime to try to get the MIL to re-sign her contract and give us the discounted price on the iPhone. HA!

Use it every week day at the very least. Sometimes more than once.

I don't understand why people are so afraid to talk to someone face to face.

Use it at least weekly to talk to: my parents in Ft Lauderdale, my sister in Orlando, my mother in law in San Antonio, and my brother in law in Japan. Trying to convince my other brother in law to get an iPhone so we can talk to them as well in D.C. A lot better than Skype!!

I've used it no more than five times for when my grandma in Japan got an iPad 2. But other than, I have had no use for it really. I usually use Skype, as more people use that.

I'm sure I'll use it even more once they release 5.1 + an untethered JB so I can run 3G Unrestrictor.

The only reason I use SKYPE is because 1/2 the time I'm on WiFi and 1/2 the time I'm not so I like to have both bases covered.

Do you not know that there are alternatives to FaceTime that work over 3G? Without any kind of jailbreak? And are also cross-platform, so each user doesn't even need an iPhone4/s?

No one wants to look at people or have them look at you while you are talking on the phone.

The only exception is for, well, you know.....
