I hope not!! How would you hold it?! They'd have to program some smart touch rejection if there are no bezels. Not to mention unless it's OLED, they'd need a bezel for the digitizer in an LCD set up
They have had smart rejection in iOS for years.

Multiple logins with Face ID and iOS 12 on iPad (Pro). Yes please, Apple.

Higher ASP could mitigate the drop in unit sales. Could also spur people to upgrade. But I doubt we'll see this anytime soon.
How about a merge from iOS with OS X and full touchscreen response on Mac and iOS devices. Google and Microsoft are both heading that way for years. At first it wasn’t that good because the tech wasn’t ready. But today it seems like a no brainer.

That iphone X plus "mockup" needs fixing.

It is just an enlarged iPhone X image. The notch should remain the same size as the regular X, sensors are not bigger on the Plus phones!

Lets be honest, none of us care who makes what. As long as it works the way its suppose to. So the manufacture means nothing to the consumer.

I'm thinking the iPad would be near bezeless, no notch, with face ID.

I for one think removing bezels on at least large iPad offers very little relative increase of space (how many percents are we even talking of here? 5-10%?) for what is lost by holding it differently and more firmly than a small phone, hands now above what is active screen space.

Hopefully they'll introduce it as an iPad X and not discontinue most of the other iPads.

If they go "iPad X", I wouldn't be surprised if it comes at the cost of their iPad Pro line though. I can't see how it would be a great idea to keep both, as both are the premium lines.

The display sizes and resolutions of the iPad Pros are as follows (calculated from the iPad Pro specs):
  • iPad Pro (larger): 12.9", 1.33:1, 80 in^2 display area
  • iPad Pro (smaller): 10.5", 1.33:1, 53 in^2 display area
Suppose that the physical size of the iPad Pros are unchanged.

If the top and bottom bezels are reduced to match the side bezels (which is one possibility that fits Bloomberg's claim that the 2018 iPad Pro will "reduce the size of the edges on the top and bottom of the device"), then the display specifications are approximately
  • iPad Pro (larger): 13.5", 1.43:1, 86 in^2 display area (+7%)
  • iPad Pro (smaller): 11.3", 1.48:1, 59 in^2 display area (+11%)
If all four bezels are reduced to the same size as the iPhone X bezel (about 0.17" on all sides calculated from the iPhone X specs), then the display specifications are approximately
  • iPad Pro (larger): 14.4", 1.40:1, 98 in^2 display area (+22%)
  • iPad Pro (smaller): 11.5", 1.46:1, 62 in^2 display area (+17%)
Note: the above numbers ignore any notch or rounded corners.
