They write that is can be connected via TB and that has some USB3&2 ports... but they do not seem to come from the TB controller, do they ? It would be great , though.

It's not clear. But looking at the photo of the back, there's what appears to be a pair of a USB 2 ports, a USB 3 port and a blue square B-type port which would leave me to believe it's not acting as a TB display with USB over TB, but just has a built in USB hub. Although maybe it can work both ways... USB over TB if connected to the computer via TB, or a simple USB hub if connected to the computer via display port (requiring an additional cable for the USB hub). We'll have to wait and see.

I love how it says "The first PC Monitor in the world".
I mean - i would love to buy the first PC Monitor in the world.

yeah i know- translations.. but still. love it!

I also think a $1000 monitor should probably have simple positional adjustments. I guess that isn't valid commentary and makes me a little child too, not really sure why.

Does anyone know if these monitors will only be available in the ultra-wide format? Imo it's an awkward format to use, if this was avilable as 26-30" 16:9 I'd get one in a heartbeat.. though it's not unreasonable to expect different sizes / aspect ratios of it soon enough I hope.

Lots of nice stuff on it but they make a big deal about the clear stand but it's not adjustable height! Same stupid form-over-function idiocy as the TB Display and iMac. Pay a ton of money for a great piece of gear and you have to sit it on top of books to get it the correct height.

And, to add insult to injury - at least from Apple - the TB Monitor and iMac come with instructions about proper ergonomics and how your chair and keyboard and monitor should be positioned.

A pet peeve of mine too! Many monitors swivel, tilt, everything but lower. I personally like my screen as low as possible; I find it gives me less neck strain, when on for extended periods.

The whole point of this monitor is 1440P in an ultrawide format.

If you want 16x9 in 1440P they already exist. Dell U2713 is right in your specs, or just look up "WQHD" or "2560x1440".

The whole point of this monitor, for me, is that it's the only non-apple thunderbolt monitor (also, TB2, with other connections supported). Ie, all that apples next thunderbolt monitor should be. I won't buy apples as it doesn't have hdmi/dvi/dp or similar, still has the old iMac design, and only USB2 hub.

In short, this is the only decent thunderbolt monitor on the market at the moment. So, it would be nice to see it in more formats for us that doesn't like ultrawide.

I'm almost ready to buy it. Just waiting for some reviews, to see if this monitor can run without issues @60hz on the nMP.

Ehhhhh...

It certainly has advantages over Apple's TB display.

But if they're not routing stuff like USB3 over Thunderbolt (and there are some indications they may not be), the TB2 support is absolutely useless, and is actually a step back over the Apple Thunderbolt Display's TB1 connector.

It's not a slam dunk. If you need the wider format, it has obvious advantages. Otherwise, I don't think it's clearly better than Apple's display.

If they don't route USB3 over Thunderbolt, you could duct tape a USB3 hub to the back of an Apple Thunderbolt Display, and you'd have the exact same functionality with the exact same cable mess.

It has a wide gamut panel, that can be calibrated. That alone makes it better than a Thunderbolt display.

Most don't buy a display because of a usb hub.

I hate the glass stand it comes with. Why can no one except apple build nice looking monitors??? I don't get it.

Just got two TB displays and gonna sell em when apple comes out with 4k and slim ones this year :) Gotta admit the wide resolution is a turn on though.. especially for cases like they show them on the pictures, like after effects with los of panels next to the video, or a premiere timeline..

After buying a TB display for the migration from my old MP 3,1 to my new one over the weekend, I definitely don't like it. Not that I planned to keep it anyway, but I was happy to return it two days ago. I was immediately bugged by the 16:9 resolution. IMHO the 16:10 ratio on my 30" ACD is very noticeably better. The 11% greater height I really like. I don't know if I could go back.

I agree with that 16:10 is the preferred ratio, the LG 4k monitor should be out around this time next year and I think it's 16:10

I was at micro center yesterday and the Dell 24" 4k 16:10 looked almost as big as a 27" 16:9 screen.
