Taking lowlight shots (I just got it and it is night) the v20 really blows out a ton of details, and casts a really unpleasant hue compared to the note. I will need to do further testing but almost any camera is serviceable in daylight these days. Where the note shined was in low light.
As far as the software it is actually pretty nice. It mostly stays out of the way, and has a very logical layout, and cohesive modern motif. No complaints there.
I think my main issue is the software keys. I really miss the home button, and physical back/multitasking keys. I know some people prefer this but I hate wasting screen space, and constantly having to stare at the buttons. I also hate having to hunt around for the reader.
The phone itself is well constructed but it is huge in comparison to the note. It is also not nearly as sleek. The second screen is actually a really redeeming feature and having media controls there really will come in handy. I was out walking my dog, and it was convenient to change tracks without waking the phone.
The LCD is no where near as nice as the oled on the note. It is washed out, and doesn't have anywhere near the punch. Considering LG is king of oled TVs it is inexcusable that there isn't a oled panel in a phone at this pricepoint
One other annoyance is that all my quick charge 2.0 gear seems not to work at all. It charges glacially. I bought 4 for my house 3 for my cars, and one for my desk so now I need to replace them all.
I think any phone I switched to would be a negative move. I really, really loved my note. It felt like holding a slab of the future in your hand. It was basically the realization of all the future smart phone renders we have been seeing for years. Giant screen floating bezelless bristling with all the latest tech.
Perhaps with time I will grow to love this thing but it has some big shoes to fill.
