Sounds like more ridiculous nonsense to me. People certainly love to hate the X. It's kind of amusing.
I haven't watched this particular video because quite honestly, I buy my phones for my needs and wants, nobody elses. I do agree though, I used to watch his shows quite regularly, but now they just seem to be full or pointless, unrealistic builds and reviews. As you say, the bigger a channel gets, the less useful they become. Not always, but most of the time. Shame really, but that's the nature of business. There is no way a large company, no matter how hard it tries, can match the personal touch of a small company. Same with channels that need to cater for larger and larger audiences.I’ve started watching Linus less and less, it seems he’s went from having relatively good information to just spewing random nonsense with nicer set pieces over the years. I never really watched his phone reviews either. It’s funny how the bigger the channel gets, the less useful information you get out of it.
Nails it at 8:54mark.I agree with 100% on what he has said. I don't think anyone has said it better.
This guy is super douchey and impossible to watch. That doesn't mean he doesn't have good points, but if you've watched his videos in the past, he has a seething hatred toward Apple. Nobody is pushing him to Android ... or Windows for that matter.
Is that actually you, Rick?I have ~30 years in the industry, consulted across a wide range of technical sectors, been published, sold companies, work in web, security, mobile, AR/VR/CV, ML, public, private sector, etc., so I guess I'm a little over the YT loud-review-of-the-day having any real impact on my personal perspective that's backed by what most of my peers would say is reasonable technical expertise 🙂
I've watched a lot of his videos over the years, and praising Apple is not something I see him do.He's actually used an iphone as his daily phone up until the s8.
His preference on computers is typically not Apple due to the fact it's near impossible to upgrade the internals. He is a techie you know, so being able to access components probably means a lot to him. Also, he praises a lot of aspects of Apple devices and OS too.

He bashes Apple frequently. I don't care if he praises something once in a blue moon. The 6s was his daily phone for a while. He praised the tech inside such as the faster controller and the thermal throttling capabilities as well. Believe he liked the Touch ID as well.
He's also praised aspects of macOS when trying it and typically praises the speakers on Apple hardware.

X users. Thoughts on this? I know iOS (and most software) is far from perfect, but find it baffling how clumsy some of the gestures appear to be. It's the reason I always avoid first gen. Would like another perspective on this (from the community).
The phrase “tech geek” now appears to have been redefined to mean “installed a launcher and made Tasker do something to minimize the deficiencies of the phone I bought”.

Linus is not a nobody. He is a well respected individual in the tech world and owns his own business. Look up Linus Tech Tips. https://linustechtips.com/main/ & http://www.linusmediagroup.com/history/
He’s pretty well known and respected in tech circles actually....So it sounds like this is another silly nobody, without any technical acumen, with a spastic, loud delivery - no thanks, won't even help the revenue generation with a click. 🙂
He isn't. He's actually quite a douche bag in person. He’s pretty well known and respected in tech circles actually....
Sigh I disagree with you completelyHe isn't. He's actually quite a douche bag in person.
I don’t care if you disagree. My cousin met him in person as they have a big YouTube channel as well and they were at the same tech event and he was quite the douche in person. Very arrogant. Respect is earned, not given.Sigh I disagree with you completely
Agreed. I refuse to watch his videos and will always remember him as the NCIX techboi making product placement videos for that sleazy company (which is going bankrupt)I don’t care if you disagree. I couldn't care less if he's an owner or moderator of a tech site. He's over the top on delivery and complains about f#$#ing dongles? Really?
He’s pretty well known and respected in tech circles actually....
"Tech circles". You mean gadget circles.
