With Lion being available via download curious to know peoples internet speeds.

ADSL2+ 12mb will take me around an hour to download.

My download speed is about 1.59Mbps on a good day, but there are 2 more factors that still apply:

There are many devices on my net work (about 10+ PS3 and 2 Xbox's) so the amount of a bandwidth I get is very low. e.g my PS3 is wired in and takes just under 2 hours to download about a Gb.

I also live next a university and collage, which make my internet very unreliable and internet speed takes a big hit from time to time.

I guess that if I were to download 6Gb in one go over wifi it would take over 6 hours!

O2 broadband, exactly as advertised, which surprised me!

I guess it won't take too long...

Yes, but the upload could be much more. This is my only complaint about my internet connection.

Upload is a speed I personally never pay attention to since I never upload, lol.

My Sky broadband is pretty reliable, it goes between 20mb and 14mb and very rarely drops below that. Compared to Virgin Media, who I was on before, who traffic manage and dropped my 10mb connection to 2mb between the hours of 6pm and 1am every, single day ... Sky is a great service.

All the better though given that my wife works for them, and the entire package of services is free. :D

Upload is very important to me, as I use my Mac Pro as an FTP and VPN Server.

According to this I could download the install, which is estimated to be 4GB from what I have read, in about 20 minutes. These things don't really count, though. There is no way Apple's servers can pump out 30 Mb/s uploads for millions of people at the same time. I would estimate that it takes me about 30 minutes to an hour to download the installer.
