incorrect.
but you ignore not...
He didn't post his first complaint until after the death of Steve Jobs. Obviously he now hates Apple and Tim Cook.
Matt, are you going to make me have to quote 20 or 30 different threads (or 50) straight from Apple's own forms, each with thousands of replies and hundreds of thousands of views....something tells me you are smarter than that.
incorrect, on multiple accounts.
We wish you well as you go back to windows. No sense for you to stay here any longer. Why stay with Apple if you are miserable? There are plenty of Windows forums that you could join and be more comfortable.
No, this thread is you whining and saying 'incorrect' without actually backing up your statements. You don't like being attacked? There's a very simple way to avoid that: tell us, in your own words, what was wrong with Lion for you. Not what problems other people had, but you. Concrete examples, not '10.6.8>10.7.2."<snip>
first non-attacking post in this thread...
I am not "bothered." I am entertaining a discussion on a forum. It does upset me a bit that upgrading to LION is a downgrade for power-users. Seems apple is truly becoming an appliance company. Apple seems to have dumbed itself down to the "average person."
To sum up, I am "bothered" by dumbed-down-ness...
You do not get it. this thread is about me begging Apple to not make me go to Windowsand it will not be back to windows because, if you had read the entire thread, you would have known that I have never use Windows exclusively. Hell, I barely know how to use MS OS very well. I have use Mac OS exclusively since 1986.
I still don't see how it is a downgrade for power users. The "dumping down" is only adding features for new users. Don't like/need them? Ignore it! Those features haven't changed anything else that is "power user-y".
I think the problem here is your miscommunication of exactly why Lion sucks so hard. Is it because the "Library" folder is hidden by default? Is it because Mission Control is kind of a mess? Is it because Spaces is gone? Backwards scrolling thing? Or are you just trolling?
Your logic fails from the very first post because a discussion cannot occur when no one has any idea what particularly you have a problem with. I'm mean you gotta give us some idea of what it is that you are having a problem with or else a discussion is impossible (which up until this point it has been). And if you aren't looking for a discussion then you are trolling. I'm just talking logic
A power user has OS X configured in a way that is fairly different than the default install, a bunch of strange default settings isn't enough to stop me. I've got GeekTool running, Growl doing it's thing, TimeMachine is much faster now, and Terminal is the Terminal.
No problems here on my '08 iMac.
I have answered almost EVERY post on this thread, and you accuse me of not wanting to have a discussion? You sure you aint the one trollin?
Or like the first posts that agrees with you lol
However, I will say I remember there being all sorts of issues with Leopard and Snow Leopard when they first came out (drivers, apps, wifi, volume mounting, etc) which sort of negates the quoted poster's post.
With that said, I have not seen nearly the same amt of lion issues in regards to techical aspects. Alot of the issues seem to be around design decisions
Fine. Then let's start with a new question then: What bothers you the most about Lion? Just pick one.
Well, seems doug is unwilling to give a straight answer. I'm out.
why does it matter that i pick one. the issues are well documented. I suppose that you want me to pick an issue so you can attack on any said issue. again the issues are well documented for any in the know. for the n00bs, and light-users none of this matter any way.

So, no, GimmeSlack12 was not being a troll.Being a prick on the internet because you can. Typically unleashing one or more cynical or sarcastic remarks on an innocent by-stander, because it's the internet and, hey, you can.

Doug, its not a trick question. Just pick one, humor me. I'll start: I think Mission Control sucks and wish I had Spaces back as I did in SL.
Discuss.

You have answered every post on this thread with nonsense, that adds nothing to the topic at hand.
"logic-fail" is not a reply, its a sad attempt at being in control of the people on here, who were interested in understanding what you were thinking about Lion and it's problems.
Oh, and trollin' is defined as:
So, no, GimmeSlack12 was not being a troll.
Because those of us who aren't having issues, despite being power-users (which btw, if you define, will make things easier for all of us) are trying to figure out YOUR logic.
Read what i said to you just above. If I picked one issue I would need to pick about 23 or more separate issues. Again, the issues are well documented. do you ever visit Apple's own support forums?
Everyone in the media is afraid to dis on Apple because it one of a handful of companies literally keeping America's economy from completely sinking....

You still haven't answered this one.I have answered almost EVERY post on this thread...
Are you accusing me of being anti-truth/anti-knowledge?
I personally didn't use spaces, and actually found myself getting lost in what was where, so I like the new Mission Control better. I can see some peoples point though, and it doesn't (to me) mean that Lion sucks.
What I believe Apple should do, is make that an option, Mission Control or Spaces. I know they advertised Mission Control a lot, but still, some people did like it, but people will adapt to new workflows. After all, thats how we are still here, isn't it!![]()
Why do you care of his opinion...? He is clearly being evasiveWe didn't ask for all the issues, just a few to get started.
People have absolutely no problem complaining or disin' on anyone, no matter what. Thats where we are as a society.
Ok then. Still, what is YOUR definition of a power user? Someone who has used Mac OS for so many years? Someone who uses their Mac x amount of times a day/week? Someone who knows how to use Terminal? What is it? This is an honest question, that you need to be able to answer before starting a thread like this.
You still haven't answered this one.
