Seriously, go to bed! 6 more hours till the earliest they'll release it. They're still briefing their sales staff. Plus, under the hood it's a very minor update save for rebuilding windows networking. You're overly anxious for an OS. It doesn't DO much new.
I think as far as Lion itself goes, it will appear in the App Store sometime today without having to take the store down or the Apple.com/store site down. With the way the App store works, there is no need for all the behind the scenes stuff they normally do.
New hardware would be a different story and I think we will see both today.
Side note: after reading up on the Server side of things, I think I am going to buy a Mac Mini if they end up with Thunderbolt so I can use that and run my own server for cheap!

I think releasing it at midnight Pacific time would have been a great idea on Apple's part. Mainly because the impact on the server would be a lot less now than it will be at 8am tomorrow and throughout the "normal" waking hours. Anyone waiting up specifically for this release is crazy because it won't be coming tonight. That would be way too out of the ordinary for Apple.

Well, the Wi-Fi music sharing was an interesting feature. Unfortunately, I've never had the honor of using it because I could never find any other Zune user in my area to share music with.

120 or 160gb (can't quite remember), served me for awhile, the battery is crap now!
ZuneHD 16gb, really loved this one. The screen was amazing, the feel was great, and the interface was beautiful. I loved wi-fi syncing with all of them and stuff. The Zune Marketplace was also really nice, the music selection was great and I LOVED the monthly pricing. 15 bucks for unlimited music to stream and 10 to keep? Awesome.
But the Zune just couldn't hold up. Boring apps, boring updates, and I felt like Microsoft just didn't care. The community was lovely though.
Really glad I chose Zune at the time but now... iPod all the way!
P.S. WHERE OS LION!!!
i hope whenever i do start the download, that virginmedia don't start throttling my bandwidth due to reaching my daily limit!!! grrrr...

I've been curious about it myself. I think it has to do something with registering the computer? Either way I purchased my MPB very recently and sure hope I can get Lion smoothly!
