Any recommendation?

Should I install Lion cleanly (then have to restore all my application and data) or should I upgrade?

If your computer is older than 2 years or so, a clean install wouldn't hurt. Otherwise an upgrade would be fine. Take into consideration all of the applications you have.

Hey is the online apple store down? I just drove to Memphis and confirmed the Apple Store there is closed until 10AM CST.
:apple:

Christ, people actually do that? It just makes me wonder... how is it any better to get it THE SECOND it comes out than a few hours later? You wouldn't lose sleep or sanity that way, and it's the same exact product...

but we want to :) :apple:

i've done it a few months after before .. and it wasn't very exciting and I sat there thinking you know what, I really should have been excited on release date.

I wouldn't call it a significant upgrade if it just adds Lion features. We need the real iWork '11, or whatever it will be called.

I hope I can get a free upgrade to iWork '11 since I recently purchased it... if it came out of course.

How many of you stayed up till 12 EST or 3 EST(12PDT) and with no luck went to bed? Why do I get the same feeling that we are gonna have the same disappoint at 8:30 EST...

....

Went to sleep last night thinking that Lion will be waiting for me when I wake up. It's 7:54AM in Atlanta now. Where is the Lion? I guess I'll join this crowd and refresh my mac every 5 seconds. :)

Good morning my fellow Apple nutjobs.

Good morning! Glad one of us got some sleep..

Can anyone confirm whether or not this will work:

1. Download Lion from App Store
2. When it's downloaded put Lion on an external HDD
3. Reinstall SL
4. When SL is reinstalled get the installer from the external HDD and then run the installer.
5. Done?

would that work?

Cheers :)

You don't need to reinstall SL first, burn Lion to a disc and do a clean install.

Erm, why dont you just reinstall SL now and update when L is actually available to download? Your messing about putting L on an external drive seems a waste of time.

just had my new internet installed last week so downloading Lion shouldn't take to long :)
