Which would you rather have?

A) A Shocker from Steve Jobs, or
B) Lion Released right now

I just pooped, so Steve would be in for a big shock. I think it's why they call it a shocker.

My good god.

I'm so excited. Refreshing Twitter, Mac App Store and apple.com/store every 10 seconds. Palms are sweating. ahhhh.... just release it already.

Hello everyone, I'm sitting here at my desk waiting for release of Lion as well, but I read yesterday that it won't officially go on sale until 8:30AM Eastern Time. At least thats what was the rumor before the official announcement from Apple in the afternoon.

Hey Wagner, we could always use another fanboy before the release of Lion. :)

Steve Jobs just phoned someone to say it'll be released in a couple hours.

Just heard from Rupert Murdoch.

I'll say it again, It's comments like that which give fanboys a bad name.

I won't be an early adopter as I am leaving for work now.

Separately, if I bought a refurb recently, am I eligible for a free upgrade?

My Lovely Internet

Since the wait for Lion has turned us into sharing our internet speeds, Here is mine.

As a relative newbie, what is the best way to upgrade? I have a time machine backup as well as a Carbon Copy Cloner image. Assuming I can put the Lion dmg file on a DVD, what are the steps for a clean install? Will I need to reinstall all of my applications?

Selling iMac with Lion

Hey there!
Also a long time lurker on MacRumors, but now it is time for my first post while waiting the the Lion to appear.

I have an iMac that I have prepped for sale as I have bought a MacBook Pro instead.
What happens if I go ahead and purchase Lion and upgrade both my Macbook Pro and my iMac, and then sell the iMac.
Will the buyer be able to continue using Lion and receive upgrades for it. He/she will obviously be on another AppleID.

I haven't been able to find info on this scenario elsewhere.

I think it will be a little historic. ...

I know it sounds like hyperbole but the bridging of iOS and Mac OS, with the unified multitouch interfaces, seems to be one of the most incredible (or at least most instantly noticeable) innovations Apple has ever pioneered.

Might be some cool features, but no.
