List: MR Members Waiting To Buy A New MacBook Pro

What's your situation in relation to a MacBook Pro?

Sorry for my very bad English, but I just have a couple of questions. For three hours ago I was ready to buy a Macbook AIR. Macbook AIR was going to be my ONLY computer. Just Macbook AIR. But I diden´t do that. To much money, and I must have a good computer for my photo-work. Instead I'm going to buy the new (when it's come...) Macbook PRO. But I wondering what we can expect for new features on a Macbook PRO?
Penry - check?
Multitouch trackpad - check?

What more Do you think will come with this upgrade? When do you think the new Macbook PRO will come? It's has been more than 200 days since the last upgrade. Do you think Apple working on a new upgrade for Macbook PRO, or it's just Macbook AIR in this time for the peoples on Apple?

I think the magnetic latch will have to be included with a MacBook Pro revision, because Steve has promoted it with the MacBook and now the Air, too.

It could be coming Tuesday (thats when Sony is shipping their new 17" with Intel's latest) or it could come out in over a month....
 
My local apple resellers are having promotions for some items. Normally when they have promotions for certain products, that's when updated versions are able to hit the street soon.

This time round, the promotion extends to these following products:-

1) Mac Mini
2) Macbook
3) Macbook Pro
4) iMac

I say wait for the new MBP. The wait is near.

i'm sorry lads, i really am, but i cant wait any longer :mad:

Ive been waiting since october, and i have the money ready for the 2nd MBP model.

if its not out Next tuesday (last tuesday of the month), im buying it.

Can those with the Middle spec MPB assure me im getting a great machine regardless of updates?
 
15" PB is about to celebrate 4th B-DAY!!

I'm ready to buy a new 17" MBP. However, my trusty 15" PowerBook is almost 4 years old and still works great... Hmmm, but I'll wait for the chip / processor upgrades.

I've been using Final Cut Pro my 15" PB 1.25GHZ for over 2 years now... Those renders take too long... I think It's worth the wait... I'll probably have my new 200GB 7200rpm / DVD-DL / 17" MBP for at least 4 years. (After I buy it, that is ;) ).. so I'll wait just a little longer..... yeah, just a little
 
All signs point to a new MBP. I mean it is coming. The big question is when. I'd say between now and Feb. 15th (or whenever the iPhone SDK is released).


And here's praying to the big man upstairs that it's a real update.
 
I have set in stone my decision now. Feb 6th, I buy a new MBP if they're updated, or a refurb current design if they're not. Two more tuesdays.

I've got new Keynote presentations to design, and I want to know how far I will be able to push the animations - and I can only do that with the laptop I'll be using to give them, which will be my MBP. So I wait till then, then that's it.

Your call Jobsey boy - you lost £60 of my money by locking the external superdrive to the MBA. On Feb 6th, you will have lost another £300 if you don't announce new MBP's.

I've got a working laptop, so I can hold on for now. This will be my first Mac.

I've been reading this thread for a while, so i finally decided to post, put my name on that list, hopefully a new one will come out before Feb 24.
 
I've set a final date for myself, which is Jan 29th. That's when I'll go get whatever MBP is available :)

Dear Lord, I've not updated it since you mentioned it: I can only do it once every couple of days because of time restraints!
You'll be in the next one, don't worry.
 
A 15" MBP will be my first Mac. I was going to the retail store this weekend to purchase it until I found out about the possible update soon.

Put me on the waiting list please...:cool:
 
I've been waiting, too. I really need it for August, but I could really use it about now. I'm working on a couple projects and I really need a laptop. But I'd rather wait for the new models to come out, especially if it's really soon. I've played around with MBPs and I love them! Hopefully they'll be able to play my video games as well (I saw a video of Bioshock on a MBP with full settings running smoothly). I emailed steve at mac dot com about this, but I wonder if I'll ever get a response (doubt it). Hopefully it's soon. Add me to the list ^^

im still using my old vaio z1 series and its killing me
especially when you open a number of pdf files for journals..
help me perservere lord, what doesnt kill me only make me stronger, hahahah
bottom line..
i will wait... wait...., until exactly 14 days from now..., and whether apple will release update or not, ill be happy on the 16th or 17th day, hahahah
