What's your situation in relation to a MacBook Pro?

i'm going to either buy the top of the line 17" hi-res with all the fixin's, or (if it's not substantial enough an improvement to justify the price differential) pick up an EOL'd 17" hi-res 2.6 online somewhere.

it's time to give the parents the 15" coreduo mbp, and sell the dual 2.0 G5 desktop, and consolidate my life in a capable (at last) barnstorming laptop that can handle what i throw at it (lots of music production).

i hope that tuesday's tidings surprise and delight us all!

maybe the above quote wasn't clear. add me to the list!!!:apple::apple::apple:

people make mistakes. he probably just accidently missed your post or something

its not like if you're not on the list they won't be avaliable to you or something anyway

oh, really? i was thinking that steve jobs is santa, and that arctic monkeys avatar-having list-maker guy was like, one of his elves or something, and if i wasn't included on his list then i'd be left behind when the big update came and, you know, i was starting to feel like all bad and sad inside.

thanks for bringing your enlightened wisdom and light to my now-much-improved life. now, go easy on the prune juice, ok?

If the MBP update is announce tuesday then I will be very happy however: I've gotten so addicted to this weekly wait part of me feels I will miss this corner where I rock back and forth, thumb in mouth, quivering on the edge of apple anticipation. It's like a drug..an eternal dopamine rush...

Brilliant =)
It's actually quite nice and exciting to wait like this, it's like hunting. The catch is not as fun as the hunt.
We are nerd cavemen.

Edit: On the other hand... I want my ****ing MBP now, gosh darn it! =)

Hi,
New here and yes i am waiting for the new MBP. I was about to order when researching i came across this site advising the new MBP is due ......at some point anyhow.....here is hoping for today!!!

If the MBP does come out tomorrow, imagine how much business steve is going to get from this forum :)

and may i be the first to say, as every tuesday following the turn of the year, we will once again be dissapointed. :(

(i bloody well hope im wrong this time though)

Taking as an average that people buy the middle MBP w/o upgrades and only counting thoose who says "waiting" (about 180 of them) thats a whopping $ 449'820 just from this thread - i'ts crazy..

Now come on Steve, we know you would like that cash! Give us a new MBP!

Sorry guys but it looks like a no-go for today :( Oh well, now I can continue to feed my addiction to this thread and waste every free moment of my day with you guys!

AAAAhh man I'm about to burst.. I need one now, but spending that kind of cash on something 6 months or so old is just plain wrong.. I might go shop for a Macbook to have in the meantime...

I've got to say... I don't really know what I'm going to do at work once they actually release one... No more obsessive checking... No more reading about others shared despair...

Oh, actually, I do know - I'll buy one!

Where's my new MacBook Pro?!?!!?!?:apple::(

Mine just shipped!

I just got an email notification from the Apple Store (timestamped 9:00:34 AM ET today, Jan 29) that my MacBook Air shipped and will deliver by Feb 1 via FedEx. :)

Looks like I'll have it for the weekend. No tracking info yet, so I can't see where it is in transit.

I ordered on Jan 15, 2008 at 12:52 PM PST.

It's a 1.6 standard 80 GB machine. No accessories. I did opt for the expedited shipping, though.

*Puts hand up

I had my Debit card in my sweaty hand during the keynote waiting, but alas...

I am just hoping that the new one has an ATI card in it. I tested the (current) Nvidia card against a 1st gen MBP with the ATI and it was faster for OpenGL stuff.

LOL@txhil...
