facebook, twitter, weather channel are the only retina display apps that i need updated and im good to go.

Retina only!
I hope developers aren't slow to update their iPad apps to be retina compliant as some were (and still are) with retina iPhone apps.
It's Retina only on my iDevices, and I have low tolerance for developers (Pocket God) who refuse to update the graphics. If a retina version is not available within a few months, their app gets deleted from my device, and a 1 star review will be posted for each app (citing retina incompatibility).
I certainly hope Apple will force developers to CLEARLY mark apps as retina compatible or not. There should be a little icon or symbol showing that the app is retina ready, or a separate 'retina' section in the App Store (not just a 'great new iPad apps' section.
Now that all app icons are retina even if the app isn't (on the iPhone), it's hard to know for sure.

Appears personal finance app Mint.com has just been updated to take advantage of retina as well.
AIM for ipad has been updated for retina display
but I dont use it because I use facebook chat.

GTA III better update ASAP! i hope they do, because chinatown wars was never optimized for retina on the iphone

i was always excited because id get a free floppy disk to use for school transfering files. *unlock* *format*
Just did a run through in iTunes on m,y iMac....Bought sketchbook Pro, updated a couple of others, nothing else of interest to me yet retina wise...Free HD wallpaper etc...Will be using my own HD shots for wallpaper. I'm good to go now too.
i wonder where CNET got there information from on the apps being updated later today and tomorrow?
still no facebook, flipboard, wired.. to name a few. maybe they got there info wrong and its tomorrow for the rest..
Its only 7:15 in California, still plenty of time to get them out. They're probably working OT to approve as many retina apps as possible.
oh yeah i keep thinking its late there because its already 9:30 here and it feels more like 1 in the morning.
I don't know why it takes less space, but it is definitely much better than before.
