I think you should toss the hit or miss category and if the on/off switch isn't reliable for everyone, it should be a miss. I think it is better to know whether or not a manufacture has addressed the reverse polarity issue by 1) having a good enough magnet to start with or 2) fixing the issue.

So now that we understand that the iPad 2 was not sensitive to the magnetic polarity and the new iPad is, I think I agree with you. Maybe this should just be a list of cases who are selling only correctly working cases and those who are not.
I just purchased the Otterbox Defender (newer version with built in screen protection) and the sleep/wake function does not work. I just e mailed Otterbox for a reply.![]()
I don't know who "confirmed" that the Piel Frama case works for the iPad 3, but I'm here to tell you it does not!!!!The magnetic sleep/wake closure does not work and the camera is partly occluded.
I just picked up a Belkin Cinema Leather Folio case and the sleep function works just fine.
