Didn't read the whole thread but Zaggfolio for iPad 3 (even though it said iPad 2 on the packaging) carbon fiber works great!

The Casecrown Bold works with my 3rd gen iPad. I wonder why it doesn't work for other people.

Targus Slim Case

I have a Targus VueCase and it does not work. I think you should make a category for "hit and miss".

I found that a Targus Slim Case fitted very well once it was popped in on all four corners. Tight fit with no shifting.
BUT magnetic on/off is hit and miss.
Opening the case switched it on about 80% of the time.
Closing the case pretty much never switched it off.
Also, if the top cover shifted slightly (like it would inside a bag, or even if you are holding it and walking along) it would randomly switch the iPad3 on.

So, ignore the claims on the cover that it works with iPad3 magnet --- it doesn't. Returned it to Best Buy who accepted it without complaint.

The latest shipment of the roocase Dual-View Multi-Angle Leather case being sold on Amazon has a perfectly working sleep/wake cover. Had to wait a few extra days for it, but worth it. I love this case and, even more, the $25 price tag. :)

This case is just stunning. Just wish they made one without that tongue flap. I've been looking at all the case threads this past week.......still in search of my perfect case.

I agree...the flap is why I'm returning my Lexington.

Targus Versavu 360 Case for iPad 3

I called Targus in CA and they are aware of and fixing the problem. They expect to send out a NEW shipment in 6 to 8 weeks. They same it may be sooner. So, I will await until mid April (around the 15th) and check with them again. I do not trust Best Buy or Amazon to give me this info. They have a lot of 'BAD' stock to get rid of.

My Husband has the Targus Slim Case for his new iPad. Once they fix the magnet polarity issue, it would be a great case. I totally agree with you on Best Buy. When he bought the case at our local store, they were adamant that it would work. He has not returned his case because this feature is not a big deal for him.

Because every company until late last week did not realize you have to put the magnet in a certain way, you cannot make a thread like this have any credence. Because a mfr can make 5000 cases like Targus, and half or more will have the problem, and half will not. Cases being made after they discovered this will all work like maroo is shipping now, but not some ones avail last week. You take your chances. I have have two targus cases that work perfectly, others do not that have the wrong side of the magnet inserted in the cover....

Just received my Poetic StrapBack case that I bought off Amazon. Great case, but sleep/wake function is NOT working. I've contacted the manufacture to see what they have to say.

This type of listing isn't going to be as helpful as we all hope it would be. Reason: I purchased two Maroo cases. The magnetic smart cover feature on one of them works perfectly with the new iPad. On the second one the smart cover feature doesn't work at all. The only outward difference in the two cases is the color of the leather. The red leather one works fine, the black leather one doesn't work at all.

So, as I said, good luck with a list.

Mark

brown case seems to work.
it's a bit on the heavy side

Yeah, it's a shame.

Anyone know if there's a self fix? Can I someone change the polarity?

sure...use an xacto knife and cut it out, turn it over and glue it back - I just cut a case, not caring as I was gonna throw the case away and it worked fine. A few others have cut the stitching , reached in and flipped and re glued...

If that's what it takes, i'm surprised fieldfolio won't make the effort to fix the polarity.

It doesn't look like I can cut the case, but thanks for the tip though! :)

Targus Issue

I emailed Targus tech support because the cover I bought at Best Buy did not work (magnetic switch). Within one day, Targus replied telling me they would send me a new one for free once the issue is resolved. Very easy to deal with and I will keep this cover because I like it and once the on/off works it will be awesome for my use. Great job Targus (assuming I get the replacement in 6-8 weeks as stated)
