swipe to the right to see your last photos directly from the photos app is gone, you only tap the thumbnail now. videos has moved to the photos app as an album, you could only see it from the camera app before.

This one is odd to me. They changed it to swipe for faster access now it's back to how it was before. Why not have photos tab on the very left and keep swiping to the right access photo album? Or at least keep it there from videos. Much faster to me then reaching for the thumbnail every time.

I put this in another thread but I may as well say it again. ios 6 didn't make me put my password in for free updates in the app store. Its back to making me do that.

I've been using iOS 7 since Beta 1 and not once did I have to put my password in to update apps.

I still have lyrics in my music app. Just tap the cover art and the lyrics appear over top.

When I tap all that happens is the artist and song title changes to the rating. Is there anything else required? I have it enabled in Settings > Music > Lyrics & Podcast info. Does it only work on certain albums? I'm trying it on an iTunes purchase from a fairly popular band.

edit - my bad, seems you have to add them in iTunes. I don't use Music much but was interested in this lyrics feature, which I wrongly assumed would pull them from an online source.

In shared photo streams there used to be a little icon that showed up when someone had commented on a photo when in the list view, but there isn't now.

That's annoying because my fiancee sends me an entire book in pictures, and I use comments as bookmarks. :D

Calendar list view and labels on movies

The only two things that raise my hackles are that there is no longer the list view in calendar, although I know you can use the search to sort of duplicate that, but it does not allow you to add events in that view, and it often jjust goes back to the main view.

I also noticed that movies do not have a caption, name, whatever you want to call it under the thumbnails. These are ripped movies, and no, adding the name in various places in iTunes does not solve that issue. The only way I can get captions is to turn them into "Home Movies", which they are not!

The "Open in..." menu used to keep the most recently used app at the head of the list. Now the list order is fixed and I have to scroll through 7 or 8 apps to get to the one I use all the time. ("Files Connect" for pdf mail attachments, for example)

Hey guys, so i'm starting to notice some things we lost in the iOS & update. Post what you notice is now gone. So far I noticed:

- Ability to compose facebook statuses and tweets in notification centre
- scrollable calendar in Reminders app
- Loss of integration of some apps in notification centre like Wunder list
- Cover flow?? ( whatever that grid looking thing is, its hideous

What have you guys noticed?

ability to delete messages within a conversation. which i used a lot when i got photos texted to me. I'd save the photos I want and then delete that bit of out of message stream.

ability to download videos from within the video app. it was there in the betas although it did like to bork up and would often only appear if one had manually (aka got into the itunes store app) downloaded at least one file from that series. then the rest could be downloaded directly. which is not how it did and should work when 'show all' is turned on. Ability to pick the quality of the download was missing since like beta 5. in iOS 5 it was SD/720/1080 then in ios 6 it was SD/HD and not it's nothing. personally i would like the ios 5 version back and for both downloading and streaming. even if it was just as a setting of a default and if you wanted to break that then you have to go to the store where it would let you pick from all the available choices. Also the ability to see what you have bought in store results has been missing for a while. as is being able to trigger a download.

those are the biggest things I've noticed.

Although I've heard reports that several apps are missing the ABC strip down the side. I noticed that in the video app but couldn't recall it ever being there so i don't think that's an iOS 7 thing. Also heard that album searching and playback is all borked up and compilations are still screwing in iOS 7 and iTunes 11 (they don't bundle together like they used to as a whole title but are under the artist)

This is not an issue. You just add the artwork for the ripped movie, like you would add album art work. All my ripped dvds show as the DVD cover on my ios devices. So no caption needed. The DVD cover has the title of the movie as part of it. Go to itunes and add the artwork for the DVD like you would do for an album. I think the last tab under get info or something like that (in itunes).

At least we've gained massive amounts of scrolling in notification centre, more reading instead if icons and a colour scheme to entertain 6 year olds.

Highlight the message and hold, then click more. That gives you delete/forward per message.

Is there any way to call a number directly from reminders? I know if I write a number in the notes section of Calendar then I can just tap it and press call. What about in reminders? Is there any way?

Oddly, if you use Siri to set up the reminder and its in your contacts it is clickable.

Month view in Calendar. All I can get is page view (which is useless to me) and list view (by hitting the magnifying glass).

excessive clicking of the home button can actually break it. which is why folks like having a gesture that can do many of the things they do often.

That makes sense. Most likely it would be followed by hitting the sleep button anyways. Could just skip the middle step and just hit the sleep button.

thanks. that was really bugging me. Although not as much as the downloading videos thing cause I do that a lot. Especially since they took away features that were there before that don't seem like they needed to be removed for any reason

Notifications doesn't clear after sliding to view from lock screen exp. a tweet for instance. I would have to manually clear them! Is this a change from iOS 6, or is there a setting to change this?

you run into similar issues. in fact the early batches of the iphone 5 had major trouble with sleep button damage. thankfully most of the time it happened after only about six months so folks were still in warranty

Auto Siri

Even though there is a setting for it, Siri will no longer activate when you lift the phone (5s) to your ear.

The local time in the weather app. Useful when checking out the weather in cities not in your time zone.

Seems to work fine for me on iPhone 5.
