Little OS X Easter Eggs

I found the cookie recipe! Here's how to get it:
1. Open Terminal and paste in this, no quotes: "defaults write com.Apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES". Then type, without quotes, "killall Finder".
2. Open a Finder window and go to Macintosh HD, or what ever your HDD is and scroll down to the folder called "usr", no quotes.
3. Open "share" then "emacs" then "22.1" then "etc".
4. Look around at the neat stuff.

This is very useful if you are reading online documents. white text on a black background is much easier on the eyes in periods of extended exposure.
An easer way would be: Shift-Command-G. When the "Go to folder" screen comes up just type "usr" or "usr/share/emacs/22.1/etc" and it will take you straight to the folder.

hmm that's weird... i've got a unibody mbp 10.5.6...
to zoom, i just hold command and use two fingers on the trackpad to scroll up...
it's a key setting in the pref pane under track pad.
you probably changed it from control to command
Sweet. I am going to make those this weekend and see if it was worth the ~$200 someone paid for it.
Ironically, of all the things mentioned here the only one that is an Easter Egg is the one that the poster claimed wasn't. All the others are documented features and/or readily visible.
The colour invert I think i will find handy.

I'm not geting the zoom to work either, bust maybe this is a Mini vs Book differnce?
I have noticed though If you hold down Shift + Control and then move your cursor over the dock it pops up without any of the magnification effects enabled. Not very exciting, but a minor contribution..

For the cookies one, go to the terminal located in Applications, Utilities and type this into it exactly as it appears:
open /usr/share/emacs/22.1/etc/COOKIES
That should open the recipe.

I think its my bad typing.. and the fact that I have forgotton most of my "bash" skills..
As for the Zoom.. It does work, butonly if you enable it in system preferances!
Which as a side note lists quite a handy selection of shortcuts as well that can be activated or deactivated by the click of a mouse. Now I know..

If you hold shift whilst doing exposé, dashboard or minimise it will make those actions happen in slow motion.
dragging a widget onto the dashboard whilst holding shift looks sweet

On a macbook keyboard, option+press any of the shortcuts on the F keys to open it's system preference pane. For example option+F3 to open the preference pane for exposé/spaces in system preferences.
The invert screen command is useful since black pixels save power. If you are low on battery life and need to preserve invert the screen. Otherwise like mentioned it is nice for reading since its easier on the eyes.
