Excited for Monday and the release of iOS 16.1! I’m also excited to see how 3rd party apps make use of the live activities
I think many of us have been waiting patiently for something like this, when Apple first introduced widgets. Glad to finally see the day drawing nigh.
What app are you using that is working? From what I can tell, everything wants you to validate as someone who pays for traditional TV service, lol.
I just tried this now and these are great. Is it possible to watch two scores on the lock screen? I followed 2 games in the sports alert app but it just groups them on the lock screen and I can only see one without tapping on the screen and clicking on the group. I thought i could change the settings in the notification settings to turn off grouping but it doesnt seem to work
They are only good if you like sports lol for me I don’t so can’t find a use for them
Doesn’t work for premier league games or I don’t seem to be able to get it to work. I get notifications etc but the live activities bit doesn’t seem to work on my Lock Screen, even though the league can be followed in the app. The live activities toggle is also turned on so don’t know if it works only for certain leagues within the app
For someone who doesnt watch sports at all, these features are worthless. 😟

Try Fotmob. Works excellently with premier league. Just press the star icon in matches. I was also able to have 4 games at a time on the lockscreen.

How are you guys getting these to work? I have sports alerts but I just get regular alerts. Not the live dynamic ones.

Edit: Turns out you have to go into the game details and tap “End Live Activity” from the menu. Hope that changes.

Live Activities can stay on the Lock Screen for 4 hours in an "ended" state.
Lol, you can just swipe to delete it like a normal notification
This is probably the most downloaded app in the app store right now. Great move on their part to have Live Activities so well implemented so quickly.
this doesn't just apply to sports though. Imagine getting traffic alert for your area and commute.
Or if you follow and organization you can get realtime info on new and breaking news.
This is not just for sports....
One of the big problems with productivity apps (such as Drafts) using Live Activities/Dynamic Island is that they can only remain active for 6-10 hours. They'll have to come up with a workaround for that. At the same time, we don't want them becoming Live Activity "hogs". The beauty of this feature is its periodicity.
