Surprised ESPN and MLB hasn't had this ready for the post season. This could have been huge

It wasn’t available until today. I suspect MLB will have it ready for the beginning of the World Series on Friday.

I'm not seeing Live Activities in the TV Settings. I only see one thing and that is the Siri and Search option.
Me Too!!! I called Apple support and they are clueless though I have a case opened. I erased and restored my 13 pro max and I still don't see the live activities switch in the Apple TV setting. I do have it set in the Settings->Face ID & Password

Apple disabled it for the TV app in a previous beta and has not restored it yet. They must have found some bugs with it and have not fixed it yet.

Individual apps support Live Activities. The TV app setting is only for events in the Apple TV app. For example, Sports Alert (app) works with Live Activities by long pressing the event and tapping Start Live Activity.
Thanks. I'll wait for som live games on Sports Alert so I can test this. Strange Apple never mentioned this on the call I had with them.

I downloaded FotMob and I tried it out with the West Ham game tonight. The score didnt update until I opened the app, then the island and lock screen updated to the correct score so pretty pointless.

What do you mean by ongoing price? I don’t see anything regarding premium features or memberships in the app.

Edit: There is an ad-free experience but at $5/yr I’d say that’s far from steep.
what a bargain! Amazing app and live activities are outstanding........

Not every sport in Sports Alert has Live Activity

i think I am right in saying that if I favour the Chelsea game for tomorrow it will appear in Live Activities before the game starts?

No. You have to either go into the game “card” and long press it or select the circle with three dots in it located at the upper right.

Sorry my question was generally about every app, I didn't mean to quote.

So how do you get a Live Activity to start in an app please?

See my post immediately above for Sports Alert. But it will be different for different apps. Consult each app’s settings or help documentation.

The Face ID & Password setting for this is simply to allow alive Activities to function when your phone is locked. There’s not going to be a switch in the Apple TV settings for this.

Odd that. Worked perfectly for me. Both Lock Screen and dynamic island updated within seconds of the goals

Depends on the app, but in Sports Alert you long press on the live game and select

Sorry but there is a switch in the Apple TV setting under Settings. But as someone mentioned it was disabled in a beta and not yet fixed so it’s not there. The Face ID setting it to enable live activities across the iOS.

Perhaps re the TV app. We’ll see if a setting switch returns there or was just there for the betas where it was being tested. However the Face ID setting is not to activate it across iOS. It is to allow it to be viewed when your phone is locked. That’s a subtle but significant difference.
