I hope that this story is wrong, but it is what it is. Hopefully it will be posted soon after the event.

I wonder if this is because of the demo issues at wwdc, they had problems with the little cars racing around the track in the live stream.

When I watched wwdc again using the podcast version, apple cut out the part where they had to reset the cars during the demo to get them to work.

How is this unusual? In recent years Apple hasn't live streamed any media events other than the WWDC keynotes. Am I wrong on this?

you are not wrong. the streaming is new...hasnt happened for a iphone or ipad announcement yet that im aware of.

How long will it be until Apple posts a video of the keynote? Because I don't want to hear anything about the iPhone 5S until I'm actually watching the presentation.

A few hours. Switch off your internet...there's no hiding from the inevitable onslaught of news.

Can anyone at the event do a public google hangout so that we can all watch it live? please :)

What. Do we expect the iPhone to crash ?

I was really hoping for a live stream, but since I'll be in class during most of it anyway, I suppose I can wait for the keynote...

come on, thats ridiculous.

every techcompany is live-streaming their events...why don't apple do us a favor and give us a live-stream -_-

You are not wrong. They streamed the iPad mini event last year and WWDC 2013, but before that they had not streamed in a very long time.

Those two events seem to have just been significant enough for them to put up a live stream. iPhone events, IIRC, were never streamed.

Seriously. Makes it look like Apple doesn't have the technology or doesn't think it's significant...

Not at all.

Apple wants to control the video of the event. If there is a misstep, snafu or anything that goes wrong with the event, Apple will simply edit it out.

The 'good' video will be available before the 6:00 news, so Apple knows what it's doing.

disappointed about the missing live stream. apple should keep doing a live stream.

i have had some buffering issues before, but usually i would just roll it back about 30 seconds and watch it.

Usually a few hours.

Well, this is a good thing. The last Apple TV stream was horrendous, video going out of sync, freezing.

I'm not against them streaming, but it has to be perfect.

It was flawless for me.

They streamed the Back to the Mac event.

As far as I remember, I was able to watch the recent iPad mini keynote, so actually they were expected to stream this one.

To everyone complaining about the lack of live stream, you do realize that it is a calculated move, right? If there is no live video, then every tech website in the world is forced to publish tons of updates, photos, and follow-ups. This creates an echo chamber of the news and helps feed the desire for the product.

Scarcity breeds desire. They know exactly what they are doing.

It might even be that the events held at the Apple Campus are never streamed but the events at the Moscone Center are streamed?
Could indeed be an internet bandwidth issue...

They might know what they are doing but I still want a live stream.
