Major features announced today
  1. Color
  2. a fingerprint sensor

Alright guys, we have to stop buying these things, they're getting lazy again.

What did you expect, may I ask? A flying machine? the only thing they missed is prolly NFC (which I personally never cared for.its far away from wide adoption).

64-bit with entirely re-written apps, significantly improved camera, a fingerprint scanner that actually works. Sure. Uninspiring. They should have just come out with a 6" octa-core monster with an 82MP camera. Now that would have been "innovative."

What makes Apple so successful with its fans is that it is able to persuade them that the things it talks about matter, and the things it neglects do not.

So after watching the keynote, you're convinced that things like a fingerprint scanner and 64-bit are important, but things like a decent sized screen (4.5"-5") or more storage are not.

:)

Lumia 920 and others: Allowing people to actually user their phones with handgloves.

Apple: Bringing fingerprint sensor forcing people to take out gloves even for a quick view on the homescreen.

Hurra \o/

Is your brain really that small to think about the possibility that you could turn off the fingerprint thing for a specific period when you know you are going skiing or something like that?

Glad you said handgloves. Would've been confusing if you just said gloves.

Kind of an underwhelming update. I think that the ring around the home button should have incorporated LED lights, both to indicate that the finger was being scanned, and also an elegant solution to signal that there are notifications, a missed call or text, etc.

Moreover, I wish they would have included NFC.

No updates on mavericks or mac pro. :(

iPhone rumors yet again dead on.
In comparison to other phones it is a fairly good feat. It'll sell like hotcakes and in their opinion it is a success. No matter how many features or hoops they jump through, some people are never satisfied. If you think you can do better then Apple, make large profit margins, feel free to create a company and design an excellent phone.

Because I'll be using the fingerprint sensor daily.

NFC, hardly.

If NFC were finally adopted, it would be wider spread...you could use it instead of swiping your credit card, using key passes to get into buildings, etc. There is great potential, but little ambition. Honestly, this is the only reason I want the iDevices to have it, so having it on my Android makes it worthwhile.

That's it? Boooring.

The 64-bit was a nice little surprise but I don't directly understand how it actually makes the big differences they claim vs. just faster silicon.

"Ugh, the colors are gross"

"Ugh, the screen is too small"

"Ugh, what good is 64 bit"

"Ugh, fingerprint sensor is stupid"

"Ugh, no 128GB? why bother"

"Ugh, no drop in price?

"Ugh, no extra megapixels?"

...

Good God, your families must HATE to be around you at Christmas.

You pay either 200$ or 650$ up for your Christmas presents? Because people have a right to complain about things that cost money.
