So no software updates today? During Steve Jobs time after major media events there were a lot of software updates. Also when will iWork be free on iOS 7.

big miss here with the entry level still being at 16GB and the max capacity still stuck at 64GB...bells and whistles are nice, but how can you neglect upgrading the storage space??

It would make sense for the phone to be unlocked by passcode if it does not recognize your fingerprint. You guys really think Apple would give you only one way to unlock the device with fingerprint mode enabled? You're crazy.

Knowing Apple, that's EXACTLY what they would do..."Fingerprint couldn't be read...try again." (repeat 5 times) "Sorry, couldn't read fingerprint. Phone reset to factory and SIM locked."

What did you expect, may I ask? A flying machine? the only thing they missed is prolly NFC (which I personally never cared for.its far away from wide adoption).

water resistant and a LED notification light for a start but i guess apple does not want to be called a copycat ;)

Why ditch the iPhone 5 and keep the iPhone 4S with the smaller screen and old dock connection. That doesn't make sense to me.

So if my iPhone 5 ever needs to be replaced for whatever reason, I'll be stuck with the iPhone 5C instead? ......

Some dumbass just called in to cnet and said there will be a major problem of thiefs cutting off people fingers to steal iPhones.

All these posts from people claiming to be switching to Android, you're all trolling right?

Seems like a really solid lineup. Great to have more differing alternatives in the 4S, 5C and the 5S. Each is their own design and probably appeal to different customers.

This should be a good year for the iPhone, especially with the updates iOS7 SW.

Only thing missing is the phablet really.

Seriously. How long was it before Adobe even had a native 64-bit Photoshop? Unless there are 64-bit native apps, it doesn't matter. It's a great step and evolution but unless the software takes advantage of it it's no better at all.

Ohh let me go download twitter 64bit version and load 64 bit fb app.

Man I've had a 64bit PC and honestly can't name a single 64bit app I'm using.

The purpose of 64 bit is also to use more then 4gb ram also and we won't see iOS using 6gb of ram for about 5 years from now.

Yeah apple was the first to use a 64bit CPU but there is zero need for it

What makes Apple so successful with its fans is that it is able to persuade them that the things it talks about matter, and the things it neglects do not.

So after watching the keynote, you're convinced that things like a fingerprint scanner and 64-bit are important, but things like a decent sized screen (4.5"-5") or more storage are not.

:)

It's because they aren't. I don't want a phone that I can't use in one hand.. I already have a tablet.

More storage? You can already stream any content you want.

That's it? Boooring.

The 64-bit was a nice little surprise but I don't directly understand how it actually makes the big differences they claim vs. just faster silicon.

It does not. Not for the phone applications anyways. 64 bit means that each application will use more memory and moving all these data takes more time and power.

That new silvery gray frame fixes my only gripe with the iPhone 5 styling: lack of contrast. Very nice.

I'd be jealous of the A7 speed, except I'm due for a speedy new iPad! Hope the iPad 5 gets the same fingerprint unlock/purchasing.

Meh, really not interested at all, I was thinking of the 5C to improve reception but as it's got a steel cage inside I guess that won't happen? Also it's ONLY £50 less then I paid for the iPhone 5 last year! It needs to be much much cheaper then that.
And as for the 5S, well Apple has been classic and has put the price of that up by £29 for the 32GB! They are now charging for the 64GB iPhone 5S £709 OVER SEVEN HUNDRED POUNDS!

Hmm I think I'll see what iOS7 is like, put up with the dodgy reception or change my provider. It's a damn site cheaper!

Price gouging some more. £549 for a 16GB 5S, £629 32GB and £709 for 64GB.

Come on! Apple!
