IMHO the only thing impressive about is the fingerprint tech, considering the fact fast fingerprint recognition is still in its infancy (at least from what I've seen)

Anyways will it be okay to claim Apple did "fingerprint on a phone" first, before the other far more innovative companies start adding it to their phones and claiming they were first

That was a rather simple keynote. The iPhone 5C just does not make a lot of sense when it is basically a plastic iPhone 5. I would rather have an iPhone 5. No black 5C? seriously? The colors are odd, if you are going to do color have bright red, blue, orange a darker green etc... the 5C cases are insanely UGLY! The iPhone 5s still needs a back that is all one color. The 5S cases look nice

No complaints about the iPhone 5S as it is basically what one would think it wuld be, more power and a normal jump for just a year.

Yeah, doesn't make sense. Walmart was already dumping the 5 at $98. For the same price, I'd take the 5 over the 5C?

As for the cases, how did this get past Ive?

I'm trying to understand the 5C vs just a cheaper 5 and the only thing I can think of is Apple will make more money this way, otherwise I see zero point. I imagine a ton of people now would just prefer the 5 at those prices. Maybe they will also fix the colors at some point and add the be all of electronic colors, black.

The 5C cases were almost  worthy. No idea how that got to market. Not sure what is going on, their design choices are lacking on some products.

That was my point in a previous post. This was a money grab.

Finally had time to watch the keynote and will add one bit...

The capabilities that the A7 provides will not be realized until developers start going "oh, look what we can do now". Then they add it, then you install it, then you use it, then you try to do the same thing on an A6 device, which then feels slow.

It's not a fast process and will still be underway after the iPhone 6 debuts. But it's a certain process, called obsolescence. At some point, you're going to go DL some app or OS and it will be '64 bit required.' First one, then another, then another.

the 5C cases are insanely ugly!

Have you even looked at it?

I think that it's pretty cool.

I can't think of it being anything else. At first I was not aware this was going to be 100% the iPhone 5 in plastic. Once I knew that was the case it appears to be about saving money on metal vs plastic.

Now to go read a few back posts.

No, that was not ugly nor is it now. It avoids being both beautiful and ugly or some weird design principle stuff like that.

So, now we at least know what the "iPhone Math" is all about.

With the odd colors and round holes it looks like something I would find at the dollar store. It is not nice to look at based on my personal tastes.

This also hints at what's to come in the "iWatch".

I agree. My guess is we will not see an Apple iWatch 'til 2015. The semiconductors are not there yet and Samsung is paying a heavy price for being first on this. About the only one close to getting it good is Pebble.

A smart watch moves into a UX paradigm shift as radical as a KVM interface to a smartphone. Also, the screen is shrinking an order of magnitude again. Wrist and hand motions while wearing the iWatch should be the primary interface and not touching buttons or the screen.

While I'm crystal ball gazing, my one guess on the iWatch is we'll see an internal video to Steve Jobs describing the device to almost every UX experience demo'ed at its launch. Steve had this incredible perception of what the public wanted without them even knowing it. About the only ones like this with the same fame are Edwin Land and Walt Disney.

Omg r u kidding, so if im to read something on my iwatch, imma have to keep my entire arm frozen while reading

Nope, Motorola Atrix had the fingerprint scanner before this.

iPhone 5C... C like Cheap... my A S S

in France, the iPhone 5 is sold 629€ for the 16 GB

now the 5C is sold at 599€

same hardware, they only replace the alu by plastic, saving much more than 30€

it's not cheap, it's even more profitable for Apple !!!!

Same in Italy but i have to thank Cook's Team.just made my 4 life longer.
5C is not Cheap at all.
Colors?don't need a new mobile for that,i just need a new cover.

Next steps will be a Mac Book Pro but with no Discrete in
a Mac Pro with sealed un replaceable Gpus.
The only which could go well are Mini Retina A6 and Ipad5 with A7
(because A7 was the real news yesterday).

Maybe Cook wants to meet Ballmer?

Yes, if you want examples of magical keynotes, head for samsung. Two examples:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMr5gywv0zM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NfRis0Fdn4

In both cases, I can't understand what they heck they are talking about.

But to be fair, the product they are introducing is such an epic fail that only a con artist could explain why anyone should pay any money for them.

Don't care how magic keynotes are,Jobs was able,Cook's Team is not.
What could have been magic for me was...if you're selling the same old shape and hardware..at least sell it for less... not for 599.
It would have been magic to see the 5c at 399.
Now competitors are relieved.Nice shot.
Apple has something worst than no innovation...it is boring,
as the other platforms you're right ,
but...they can go cheap..
in some cases.

But not now...only when A7 will land on :cool:cheap 6c
while i can also inform myself better and decide not to
update my apps anymore as i will do with Ios 7 which
will never land on my iphone 4 which is running flawlessly.
I mean i remember what Apple made to my 3G with 4.xx
it was also because of my trust in Apple,i believed them and
what was been told around but now my trust has been
dissipated by this poker team and i won't let them bet
on my wallet which is closed now.

The iwatch won't be made for reading like on a real browser.
It could be good,if at Apple are still able to be that smart,to left the real phone at home, not just in the pockets, safe from thieves, with in your songs,a gps,a mail reader,a ^^ watch and the chance to pair with bluetooth on your car,or with your headset while you run or
just wrist on your car wheeler to have the wheeler buttons your car miss because you have to go cheaper making you have a safe no hands calling-receiver.
But Apple won't go that smart will rather make a deal with Rolex instead and will release in 2019 an Iwatch which blings blings... .

It wasn't an upgrade for 4S users either;

Now for the decision wait another year for the bigger iPhone or leave the IOS ecosystem?

Me too.
For now i will take my Iphone 4 with Ios6.
I will make a try to find an Iphone 5 with Ios6 but
i don't know because i think owners won't sell it till
the Iphone 6.
Maybe i should consider a Retina Ipad Mini with A6 if ever will
for the Ios and an Android for the mobile.

Well it wasn't for you but I have an iPhone 4S and I'm upgrading to the 5S. Nice upgrade. The 4S to the 5 made no sense, the 4S to the 5S does. Well judging from your mad face maybe it's time for you to leave Apple as you say. :)

So... where was the whole iOS 7 presentation? I thought they were going to showcase it again like they did at WWDC 2013? Hardly a mention of iOS 7...

IMO, reading a smart phone is a secondary UI element. It should be spoken or vibrated or connecting to your smartphone as primary.
