Live Coverage of Apple's 'Come See What 2011 Will Be the Year Of' Event

I see this with every keynote here...

Many users expect earth shattering upgrades, Apple pushes out modest upgrades, everyone complains.

We'll see it again with the iPhone 5 / iOS 5. We just saw it with the new Macbook.

Learn to set your expectations lower. The new iPhone this summer will be a modest upgrade.

40 bucks for an HDMI adapter? Did I miss the announcement of Monster Cable merging with Apple?

Unless some new amazing app comes out that requires the increased processor speed, it doesn't look like a "must upgrade" to me. I'll probably wait for the iPad 3 that has higher resolution.

I sold my iPad thinking I'd either get the iPad2 or a Macbook Air. Speed is great...size was fine before, but a welcome upgrade. Cameras are great...was hoping for more stock memory or a USB port or SD slot that wasn't limited to photos only. I had to jailbreak my old one so I could carry more media around...not sure if I'll buy this or not...

seems like they're addressing a lot of immediate needs - faster processor, graphics, mirrored output...

same price points - looks like iPad 1 owners aren't going to be getting much for their old ones...

Apple did it.

Peace dedicated, stationary console niche.

AirPlay apps?

Boom. Apple TV is a console now.

Boom. All iDevices are controllers.

Boom. This *solves* the new input methods and TV variation.

Boom.

Headshot.

Apple is in your living room.
Bathing in your monies.

BOOM.

"Automatically wakes iPad when opened, sleeps iPad when closed. Magnetic. Polyurethane or leather, easy removal"

..amazing technological advance

Perfect time for people who were on the fence to pick up a dirt cheap Rev 1 iPad. Or maybe a second for the other half/kids etc

Uh oh. There will surely be some upset 3GS owners over the Hotspot feature being only for the iPhone 4.

Mirroring is here!

Woo-hoo! What I've been waiting for! Screen mirroring for ALL APPS! I wonder if this will come to the iPhone too....

no retina, expected that, but just goes to show Apple lagging behind in their hardware.

So, an iPhone 4 releases in 2010, with retina display, and 2011 a second generation iPad which Is indespensable a retina display; is not implemented? Lame.
