seems like they're addressing a lot of immediate needs - faster processor, graphics, mirrored output...

same price points - looks like iPad 1 owners aren't going to be getting much for their old ones...

Im keeping my iPad! I like the design way better, and I dont need the cameras, the specs on the iPad 2 are pretty good but not enough to justify an upgrade.

I want better ios features and some kind of design change (just slight ones like notifications etc)

I also am excited to see what game devs come up with with the new GPU power. Other than that... iPad 2 is a pass for me.

Looks good to me.

Anyone actually expecting a retina display on this should realise what a dumb expectation that is. Something like 2048x1536 resolution would be necessary to achieve that. On a 9.7" display.

Notice how the PhotoBooth Demo has the switch camera option!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is going to make me buy the new iPad 2 is the black screen of death (not being able to read it in the sun light). If they can fix that problem, I am sold!! If not I will get the the first iPad but at a cheeper price now.

Personal Hotspot: iPhone 4 only. Typical Apple stuff.
We know it's not because of a technical limitation of the older models.

Yay, with the new iOS the switch on the iPad can be rotation lock again!

I see this with every keynote here...

Many users expect earth shattering upgrades, Apple pushes out modest upgrades, everyone complains.

We'll see it again with the iPhone 5 / iOS 5. We just saw it with the new Macbook.

Learn to set your expectations lower. The new iPhone this summer will be a modest upgrade.
I looked back in the archives to see what the response was to some of the apple products I've purchased in the past, going back to my first powerbook in 2003. All pretty much the same. "Ho-hum, nothing special ... kind of disappointed actually ..."

It's an A5, and I'm guessing 512 MB to match the iPhone

it's Apple's A5 but the unorginal trick of Apple is use existing technology and put a fancy body around it. The real processor is called a Cortex A9 and is old tech

Wehn are they going to submit FaceTime as an open standard like they said thay would I wonder?

Why don't they show the iOS 4.3 homescreen? Is it same the old outdated UI (that looks like from the early 2000s) without any widgets?

no retina, expected that, but just goes to show Apple lagging behind in their hardware.

So, an iPhone 4 releases in 2010, with retina display, and 2011 a second generation iPad which Is indespensable a retina display; is not implemented? Lame.

Behind? Behind whom?

two questions

will the person hotspot for 3g sharing be free?

when will we get a damn ipad 1 price adjustment :(

Mite not get the iPad no more, after read the wifi hotspot is only for the iPhone
