That's not the point. Cloud storage is great but internal storage is much more reliable and doesn't rely on you to have a decent connection.

That's true, but cloud is the future,,,, if u have stuff on your phone how are u to expect to share ? u mean i have u get my usb cable out and sync to iTunes ?

Or will be quicker, but this means u must sync it to other devices too. no one will do that in this day and age.

Still hoping the TV allows something like this for OTA. Just found out the Xbox 1 is coming out with a live tv dvr next year:

http://news.xbox.com/2015/08/gamescom-dvr-for-over-the-air-tv

All the TV would need is a usb port, app and a way to add external storage or cloud dvr storage.

The Apple TV does have a micro-USB port, but its not for storage. Adding external storage would be basically moving off from internal storage like they did with the original Apple TV

I was told by a apple employee that the other countries outside of the US. People buy their iphones straight out with no contract. It's only in the US that the carriers let us basically lease at a cheaper rate with our contracts...

That's a strange thing to say. Here in Canada we have contracts, in Germany we had contracts and in many other countries it's not different.

So, I guess we can agree this event was an utter failure, as are the products announced. I reckon it's the Beginning of the End of Apple.

Well, I waded through all the Apple haters and frat boy BS in this thread, got halfway through and gave up looking for good comments. This website has really gone downhill in the last few months and not as much fun to visit.

A lot of the keynote was pretty cool and I almost want to upgrade my iPhone 6 but I may wait for 7 if the cost to upgrade is too high. I was disappointed they didn't discuss home automation with the TV but the Siri commands are pretty awesome and something I will definitely use. Will be contacting my Apple business rep to order the new TV!

I think you're looking for the North Korean edition of MacRumors. There they only say nice things. Or else!

What is the most annoying thing is the arrogance of Apple, today it launched these products and then proudly proclaimed in it's usual salesman spin talk how it leads all these markets. When all they have done is copy everyone else, or followed the market in the usual Apple way without leading or innovating anything.

What happened to the innovative Apple? Dead and buried with Jobs? I mean the Mac Pro was innovative, I think this Force Touch on the iPhone is too, but the rest is just following everyone else even if they are nice products. It's like the new Apple TV should have been launched LAST year, not now after everyone else has what it has.

And SIXTEEN GIGABYTES WITH 4K RECORDING! What are they thinking? oh you can use cloud storage, yeah upload 5 minutes at a time.... because that's all you can record on your 12GB or storage space! Sheeeshh

You have to remember why the excitement. While other phones and devices have been able to shoot 4K (for example) - now Apple users can enjoy that function. Because many Apple users wouldn't dream of using another device. So this means they are excited to have this feature.
on the other hand, you have to realise why users of over devices feel so much yawwwwwnnnnnnnn, when once again, 18 months behind the rest of the market, apple introduces an existing feature to the table, mark it as amazing, and watch the icult sh#t their pants in anticipation....

I agree to a point. This keynote did nothing for me in terms of getting me excited. Some nice and much needed updates. But it was a lot of catch up and spinning. Not to say the new devices aren't nice.

I don't mind thoughtful critiques of Apple products, I've made a few myself. It's the stupid hater comments with no facts or the "ooh, I can see her nips" comments I can live without. Making good use of the Ignore button today.

iOS 6 was a joke, and iOS 5 took features from Android. Maps was just the final straw.

LOL ios still steals from Android at least when Forstall did it he did right/better. iOs 5 and 6 were rock solid (very few bugs) except for apple maps which was more about apple being arrogant and wanting to stop using google maps.

I'd miss some features but the overall user experience was way cleaner back with ios 6. Especially when jailbroken.

It was, on htc's 3 years ago....

Prove it with a link. I went to the HTC website and the closest thing I could find was a tutorial on how to make an animated gif with photos taken with burst mode. If people are going to make comments like this about a feature, they need to pony up a link as proof.

you obviously had a duff one then, I had a g3 up till a while ago, and it was universally praised by everyone who saw the quality of the pics, and the 4k vids were immense.. iPhone 6 and 6 plus owners were astonished at how good it was. which I didn't mind demonstrating..
I agree the camera on my G3 is terrible - specs are never an indication of quality.

It was not very well done. But I saw some things that made me want to spend more money so I can't say it was a failure. I DO want the ipad pro and if I had the money for it I would but that money is set aside for other things this year. Live Photo was actually amazing.

It all felt like a breather before a reboot.

I don't think it was a total bust, some parts could definitely have been improved like the iWatch guy...dude needs to learn some presenting skills. I think they should just let Craig be the key speaker as he really has a way like Jobs of getting you interested in what he's presenting which is the way it should be. I kinda think they need to stop with the S phones and just blow us away every two years with a new device. It would actually give them time to properly be innovative and slow down the tech jade that a lot of us are starting to feel. I still get excited with a keynote because the sheer amount of work and brain power that goes into each and every device is staggering and I hope to never be that jaded that I find it passe.
