Even more boring than the last media event.

The fizz has totally gone out of these things. Maybe they should forget the media events and just release a video on their website instead.

I was hoping for a 128GB version and for them to ditch the home button.

We don't have a 4G network in the UK yet and we probably won't have for a few years so that feature is wasted here.

All in all I'm very disappointed and can't see the point in upgrading. Might as well keep my money and maybe get a new MacBook later in the year if the rumoured redesign actually materialises.

Is it possible to pre-order it and do an in-store pickup the next day? (Sorry--I've never pre-ordered anything from Apple before.) I have to be at work on the 16th, so picking it up on Saturday would be much more convenient. (And I don't want it mailed to me.)

Everyone stop! I need to order mine first, so I can have the newest of the new iPad. Or does that make it the oldest?

Aperture

I was hoping against hope that they would announce an iPad version of Aperture. Unfortunately, I think that the new iPhoto moves that possibility all the way past "unlikely" to "snowball's chance."

As a photographer, iPhoto is a half-measure. I want to be able to just take my iPad with me on the road, edit and post the photos, sync up via dropbox or someothersuch thing. With this, I'd have to edit twice, keeping none of the editing data.

Damn.

I still might buy this, but it's no longer a no-brainer.

I couldn't imagine buying an iPad 2 for $400 when for $100 more you get:

Significantly better display with twice the screen resolution
A significantly better camera with big resolution jump (1MP -> 5MP)
1080p/30fps video recording
Faster processor
More RAM
Built in dictation

Where did they specify an increase in RAM? Did I miss that?

My guess is, preorders will sell out fast. If you plan to prepreorder, do it as fast as you can. Your other choice is to show up at 3:37am.

I'm debating between 16gb and 32gb and 4G or not.

Now that you can download movies with icloud again, space isn't much of a concern. All my files are on the cloud anyway. $100 savings could be used for a nice case and some left over savings. Could use my iPhone has a hotspot for my wifi and save another 100 bucks but pay more in data usage fees... decisions!

for those who pre-ordered in the past, does it get to your house ON launch day?
i would hate to pay for it and still have to wait.

If not, i will wait in line from morning to night.

LET ME KNOW!!

Would also like to know how the preorders work.. I don't have an Apple store near me. So if I preorder will they ship it to me? Thanks.

Funny if Apple didn’t come out with 4G LTE people would complain. Then when they do those that don’t have 4G LTE in there area say ‘meh, no big deal to me’.
