As long as none of them try to be Steve I'm fine with whoever does it. My ultimate would be Jony Ive up there but supposedly he hates doing presentations so I doubt we'll see him.
 
omg... I managed to not thing about the event for 7 days...

Now I am going crazy in 1 hour here...

They could easily do it, the *only* logical explanation is that they don't want anyone to see them screw up.

Live streaming it would make the anticipation and excitement for their products palpable. They already have people lining up a day(s) in advance, they'd sell even more even faster if they live streamed it.

Absolutely no excuse not to live stream it.

I believe they have a legitimate excuse. The bandwidth required would be tremenedous. I remember many web sites going down just live blogging about the iPhone 4S launch. Way too many people want to watch this event for them to stream it. Maybe some news station should air it live on tv?
 
Half of the people here will be ranting their disappointment after this announcement. The rumors always reach too far and reality hits hard. Be ready.

Leo LaPorte got busted by the Apple cameras once using his Macbook camera to stream a keynote.

Thought that was kind of funny.

This is why Apple are a 1/2 trillion $ company, well partly why anyway. This "going crazy" for a yet-to-be released product -- all without even a shred of advertising (except a lot of tech blogging speculation). Pretty amazing brand recognition & loyalty, something competitors can only dream of emulating.

I think this should be front page news instead of all the past rumors... I got exited when I found out... I didn't get exited at any of the rumors...
 
It looks like CNN will be showing a recording of the event with a delay of about 20-30 minutes.

Also be prepared for the usual arguments about the definition of "Retina" and whether the screen resolution has doubled or quadrupled.
 
I used to to be pissed when my class or work schedule would fall during Apple's awesome announcements! Now my class ends at 9:50, and my next class starts at 12! So bring it on!
