Though I will get this new phone, this is the first event that I didn't care about keeping up on every word like past events. I'm more excited about a new Nano. I will get both though if a new Nano is announced.

OMG so far every rumour has been totally true ! even the shredding machine bit ! Apple is doubling down on secrecy and steve would never have allowed it, but safari looks snapier!

All of this software stuff was shown off months ago at WWDC and has been in developer hands for 3 months.

Oh look the stock is up .75%... what happened to all the people who were talking about it tanking?

Hardly an indicator. Unless Apple reported something tragic the stock isn't going to magically dip today. And being up .75% pretty typical for Apple lately. Conversely - when they dip - they dip decently too.

In other words - just another day of trading.

Half the comments so far are about whether the iPhone 5 is "new enough." The form factor and overall appearance may not be a stunning, radical departure from the 4/4S, but so far it seems to improve significantly on its predecessor, and is probably a worthy rival to the Galaxies and Nexi of this world. So yes, IMO it's "new enough."

You know what had a stunning, radical form factor? The 2007 iPhone.

Okay, that was 2007. That is no longer relevant.

Hmm. A CPU 2x as fast. A GPU 2x as fast. World-band LTE. A higher resolution screen with better saturation and contrast. An improved camera. Better battery life. 20% lighter. 18% Thinner. Smaller than its predecessor. Yeah, that was underwhelming.

Now if they had just taken the 4S and stuck a 5" screen, that would have been revolutionary!. :D

Incremental improvements don't equal revolution though... and that was the expectation created and fuelled by Apple

It looks like so far the only spec where iPhone 5 beats Galaxy SIII is thinness which is not much (considering that SIII has much bigger battery). Did they at least increase RAM size? As usual, Apple does not say what RAM size it. Apparently this is not an important spec (unlike, say, aperture).

Camera looks kinda cool but not the leap I was expecting. Ain't it just matching the S3 now?

I think price is going to be key... if Apple wants to charge an arm and a leg for this there is going to be some...annoyed people out there.

Price will probably not change at all. Should just fit into the current 4S pricepoints.

That wasn't a rumor. That was already shown on the last keynote.

Those are modest yearly product upgrades... And Apple always touts "better" battery life and well.. I'll let the volume of complaints speak for themselves...

Wow I really need that lightning cable, right?

LOL... I really like apple products, but this keynote is sad and funny in some way.

This is the weakest iPhone announcement ever. I waited to see if Apple would do something great before buying an S3 to replace my iPhone, but they didn't.

Hello, Galaxy S3

:D
