Well, at least they don't have to worry about anyone copying them. Cause who would want such a silly phone? The S GIII is now the top dog. And this is clearly Apple's first huge misstep after Jobs.

IPhone 5: Really Disappointed

Unbelievable that they have not yet or cannot yet build a 128gb IPhone. Not buying until they take this easy design turn.

Someone PLEASE see if they can find out the size of the SIM card it takes!! I am gonna get this beasty but as it has LTE will need to look into how? I will probably just buy it from Apple contract free but if I need a new SIM I don't know if I will be able to?

This is the weakest iPhone announcement ever. I waited to see if Apple would do something great before buying an S3 to replace my iPhone, but they didn't.

Hello, Galaxy S3

:D

Because increasing performance two-fold when it already smoked the competition is weak............

By that measure, the Galaxy SIII had modest yearly updates over the SII.

Until foldable screens become viable (probably not for a few years), that's probably all we'll see from everyone. What will the SIV have? I'm guessing a faster processor, faster GPU, better battery life, perhaps a better camera. It isn't as if 5G wireless is around the corner (LTE-A is a relatively minor improvement). I doubt even Samsung will go much larger with the screen than they already have (the Note is HUGE and that's probably the limit).

Not really. Compared to SII, SIII got huge screen resolution increase, NFC, quad core CPU and barometer.

Nothing surprise me!!

My next mobile phone is Nokia Lumia 920. Hope its software will be fitted with my mac :(

Fail, fail, fail, fail...

What a crap product.

Just ordered a Samsung Galaxy S3, been waiting on the new iPhone for 2 years and get this crap.

I wish Steve was still at Apple.

Feel upset now, why Stevie, why?

Me - I'm not complaining, exactly.
I am just wondering what will be the part that excites folks with this one.

Last one was Siri, mainly.
This one? a bit more screen real estate, and I bet it feels way better in the hand, being longer and thinner. Then there's iOS6 to go with it.

It's enough for now, I suppose, but it won't carry them for a year. By January, even the non-complainers will start grousing...

It does seem pretty good. I had a panorama app for my Nokia N95, but this seems like an improvement on that (better processing and correction of imperfections).

The sapphire backing should prevent the million tiny scratches on my iP4. I wonder how much a new backing on these bad boys will be though

Yeah, but they're all "spec-sheet" figures- I thought Apple didn't compete so much on specs as they did on experience. What's new about the iPhone 5 experience?

...that it still works so simply and satisfyingly that software developers like myself and senior citizens like my dad both enjoy using it.

apple doesnt do change for change's sake. they refine, innovate, iterate.

I'm afraid my pockets aren't deep enough for the iphone 5.

And I don't mean $. I mean, really are my pockets deep enough?

NOW I know what Tim meant by doubling down on secrecy ... no GM for iOS 6 so all those pesky non-developers (like me) could get their grubby little mitts on it early. :D

You people talking about how this is a huge misstep because Jobs is gone have absolutely no clue how a product pipeline works. It's completely obvious you have never worked in tech.

The iPhone 5 was probably completely designed in 2010. Jobs signed off on this LONG ago. Most likely Jobs' last iPhone contribution won't be seen until 2013.
