Woah anyone else think that the new iTunes is just ugly?! I mean it's not just ugly, it's disgustingly ugly.

iTunes has been terrible for years. The music app on the iPad just showed that they could go even lower than you all feared.

This has been an absolutely tedious introduction for the iPhone 5. I've never been so bored watching an iPhone keynote.

That is one thing that is lacking since Steve Jobs is gone. He was the master seller. Right now, they have a good CEO, a good marketing person, a good designer, and a good software engineer (all excellent, really), but no single person with Steve's mix. He was the master salesperson, and I'm sure if he were around and gave this identical presentation, there would be more enthusiasm. He'd go into great detail about why things like the sapphire lens mattered, or how revolutionary the screen technology was, not in "geek speak," but in a way that appealed to the average non-technical user.

My guess is that we'll continue to see these presentations by committee until and unless someone emerges as the right personality for them.

It's the most beautiful product we've ever made.

Disagree. This is the first iPhone ever that I am not bowled over by.

As you carry your phone, it should fit beautifully in your hand
Yeah, they have said the same about the current design.

Regarding battery life, Shiller says the iPhone 5 will exceed the battery life of the iPhone 5.
Wow, I don't think any phone before has ever exceeded its own battery life...

So much on the new iPhone

I'm sure iPhone 5 will be the biggest selling iPhone ever. But I still won't be upgrading my 4S. :D

I am in the same boat. I rather wait for the iPhone 5s or 6, whatever they call the next one.
No hurry here.
I like the new one, but I always wait my contract runs out first.

You people talking about how this is a huge misstep because Jobs is gone have absolutely no clue how a product pipeline works. It's completely obvious you have never worked in tech.

The iPhone 5 was probably completely designed in 2010. Jobs signed off on this LONG ago. Most likely Jobs' last iPhone contribution won't be seen until 2013.

True- which is why this new phone would be leading edge in 2010.

PS - even if Jobs approved everything in 2010 - things can change. The phone wasn't even close to manufacturing when he passed.

Not the best release or uncovering of a product i have seen... but than probably will still sell like all of the others.

I can't believe they designed that longer thing. Worst design by Apple in a long time.

They better get the SIII off the market.

Nitpicks on the new iTunes UI:

Libraries (music, movies, podcasts, etc.) in a pop-up menu - much less efficient than having them in the sidebar.

The controls are just flat images on the window. They don't even look like clickable buttons. Bad UI design.

The colorful display Apple put on outside has been the best part of the day so far. :D

Can someone please explain to me what everyone is moaning about ?

You have a phone that looks different, a new style, a new design.
You have a thinner, lighter phone
You have a bigger screen, with pro level color accuracy
You have an improved camera, both hardware and software side
You have your A6 SoC that you all wanted, 2x as fast CPU and GPU
You also have LTE
All while keeping the same battery life ?

Oh, darn it, theres no NFC. That makes it such a big failure.

Not.

I don't actually know what else they could of done.

Has it been confirmed though?

Yes. Carriers have them in stock now for use with the iPhone 5 once it goes on sale.

You have 245 GB in just MUSIC??? Wow!

Over 36,000 songs.

Can someone please explain to me what everyone is moaning about?

People want every launch to be like 2007.

Anyway, I expect the iPhone 5 will sell per week what the Galaxy III sells in a month, so yeah, Apple is doomed.

1) Too much time spent on iTunes. I haven't opened it since I've met Spotify back in March.

2) The time is running out. We won't have time for new iPods and iPad mini.

3) AAPL going up. Weird.
