Wow Apple put more effort in the new Touch than they did with the new iphone.

Perhaps it just seems that way since the iPod Touch is now basically on par with the iPhone which it hadn't been for a while.

Not quite my point, just seems a bit like buying a car with 3 wheels instead of 4, a few people have done it, there seems to be no good reason to do so however.

But there is a good reason. If I want a music player only and don't want to pay a monthly fee to a cell phone provider. The no monthly fee but still being able to access teh apple app store is a big selling point for many people.

To my knowledge they do this anytime to update their product line up. So with it looking like they will have ...iTunes update,iPod update,iPod nano update...iPhone.. All text, graphics, info on these products need to be put on their site.
But it could also mean Pre-orders are today....I just hope they don't start Pre-orders today.

Iphone 5… preorder 9/14, ship 9/21, IOS6 release date 9/19

IMHO, the iPod touch design should have been used for the new iphone...
And what can we say about the new nano... looking like a Lumia or 5 years old samsung yepp

They probably waste to much effort in revamping the iPod that they can't be bothered with the iPhone... :p

It's so hokey. Apple is getting a little cheesy and iPods are looking pretty childish it seems.

who do you think the future market belongs to -- tech nerds, or kids? if you dont court kids w/ music players (who later turn into phone & laptop customers) youre crazy.

Heck with the nano. I'll just buy a new iPod classic. Get back to me when they add way more space.

seriously they should've just dropped the 4th gen ipod touches. why even keep it around. 32gb 4th gen @ $249? Might as well buy the 5th gen ones.
