I have a feeling that the iPhone 8 will be the lowest selling iPhone since the start.

An iPhone 7 128GB is now cheaper than an iPhone 8 with 64GB.

Wireless charging? Well, not until next year...

But what about the a11? The a10 is already so powerful to run apps flawlessly, a lot of this has to do with Apple requiring 5 years of support with new apps. In other words, the processor will make much less of an impact compared to the lower price and double the space that the iPhone 7 provides. I honestly don't understand Apple on this one.

Give me 20 hours battery life vs. tangled wires any day.
I'll stick with my neat, untangled wire on my QC20i with this monstrosity as the alternative...

add £200 tax which the US price doesn't include... its pretty much the same..

No it isn't.

Thanks, I wasn't quite sure. So if you remove the tax (20%) the price comes to approximately £799. If $999 converts to £751 then there's a slight markup on it, but it's not as drastic as I thought. In the US, the prices you see do not include taxes.

Great, wonder what I'm getting for the extra cost?

Why make the user swipe after looking at the phone? I guess to avoid inadvertent unlocking. They should have a gesture instead that lets you look and unlock at the same time. Like holding up a finger while looking at the phone.
No, rumors are the next big thing is Dance-ID. You need to dance your name to unlock it.

People have been so receptive to being forced into using/looking at devices that tie all senses all the time, consuming without thinking, giving privacy away for free etc. It looks like hybrid parts, bionic eyes with AVR capability, memory (and decision making ?) chips for the brain, implant chips for the fingers, etc are coming sooner than later, maybe in our generation. We/they are ready and "we" (=they) can't be stopped. The future looks so bright indeed ...

Great presentation with the inclusion of "One More Thing (TM)"! Tim did a pretty decent job presenting this year and was getting emotional when he started. I wish we had a close-up of some tears from him. Anyone have a photo of that? Awesome presentation by Angela Ahrendts!!! She was really composed on stage and looked awesome. Loved the heels. I wish they brought out Phil and Craig at the same time since they seem to have good chemistry. The "One More Thing (TM)" was a little weak when it came. If they didn't let the cat out of the bag a week before, there would have been much better reception. The whole point of "One More Thing (TM)" is the surprise factor and I really wish that Apple would not leak the goods for the last segment. Another awesome bit they could have done would have been to bring Sir Patrick Stewart to do the poop emoji presentation. Overall, really good presentation and I'm looking forward to the new "Town Square" concepts.

Many compromises. Starting with the failure to get TouchID to work in the screen.

Exactly. I think this whole Face ID is better than Touch ID is a farce. They couldn't get it to work with the original design and couldn't get themselves to go with a Touch ID in the back (as it would've been a copy of Android phones) so they've gone with the 3rd option.

Interesting.. Basically they haven't managed to keep a single product / feature secret. The only surprise for me is the design and lens area of ipX.. I thought the final product will look better. Maybe it it will look better in real..

Right? And he has the balls to compare it to the original iPhone event.

A much higher resolution OLED display, facial recognition, dual OIS cameras ... among other things. I'm failing to see how you think it doesn't have anything that the 8 doesn't.

It has stuff the other iPhones don’t have. But those are gimmicky features that you should avoid purely because it’s a version 1 product. The internals are basically identical.
