no, price in UK with TAX should be £899 not £999, so it's £100 more
UK price includes taxes at £999. The US price at $999 does not include any taxes. If you remove VAT (20%) you get £799 which converts to about $1062. So you're paying approximately $63 more.

At £899 if you remove VAT (20%) it comes to £719 which converts to approximately $955. So you're asking Apple to give the UK a discount of $44 over the US price.

no, US price without TAX $999
$999 it's £752 without TAX
£752 +20% UK TAX = £902

For the love of God, I wish Cook would just sit in the audience during these keynotes and wave. He's the worst pitchman. His attempts to sound passionate are syrupy. He sounds like an infomercial huckster.
As I've said many times before, Craig should just do the entire presentation. I like Tim more than Phil. Phil has a very punchable face.

I gotta say, that presentation was the more exciting one than the last few. Apart from the new iMac Pros.
At least they focussed on their own products, rather than crowing about adoption rates compared to competitors etc. They blew it with the "one more thing" though after the leaks that had already flowed.

Presenting stuff like 4K TV as if it was something they just invented and the utterly conceited tone throughout, along with the employees continually whooping. Even by Apple standards, it was just so painful and... urgh...

Some of us determine if something is good by using it ;)

Like when I returned my S8 and went back to my iPhone due to touchid
I obviously won't know if I like it until I try it. But it's also stupid to outright dismiss something before trying it either.

I think I fly up and down to the US or Hong Kong, saves me from paying too much on an iPhone X and have a holiday too.

iPhone X = iPhone 10, WTF, what do we get after the iPhone 9 and 9S???

So you missed the part where I said I did not like facial recognition that worked very well to go back to touchid ?

Ah, I see what you mean. You convert it from US price of $999 first, then apply the 20%. That makes more sense now. Thanks for the correction.

That's the only good way to do it.

BUT, people forget why 'things' are more expensive in Europe, VAT is one thing but there are plenty more reasons why an iPhone is more expensive here, like longer Warranty, higher minimum wages, import taxes amongst others.

This isn’t even remotely the same facial recognition that other phones have. So you haven’t tried it either. Good grief.

Yeah, I see your point. But as an Apple fan I was excited. But sure, I acknowledge that this presentation didn’t really reveal cutting edge NEW innovation. It was exciting in the sense that Apple is releasing tech that probably will do thing better in comparison to others who have already released 4k versions and facial recognition and oled screens. Thats what Im excited about.

Threads like this should be a POLL..."What did you think of the Apple Dog-And-Pony Show"?

I think this is one of the most boring yet.

With no home button, I forsee an epidemic of people with thumb issues with all the swiping up...something like carpal tunnel, but the thumb.
