im hoping they don't release the gold/copper colour for the iPhone X 4 months after release, as thats the colour id prefer..

It has stuff the other iPhones don’t have. But those are gimmicky features that you should avoid purely because it’s a version 1 product. The internals are basically identical.
Those are hardly gimmicky. Been waiting for a higher than 1080p iPhone display for years. And optical image stabilization, especially dual optical image stabilization, takes much better pictures. I take a lot of pictures so this is a big plus for me. Facial recognition is a huge plus for a variety of reasons ... such as trying to unlock my phone when my hands are wet or my fingers are a bit oily, like if I'm eating food or something. Honestly, just because you don't see the benefits doesn't mean other people don't, lol.

Man! I hope you're being sarcastic. IMHV, Apple needs to make up their mind on who their target audience will be ...

A. People who can pay upwards of $1,000 for a phone
B. Those who would like to communicate via animated poop

Rich kids.

Rich female kids

Sounds like you’re sold! Enjoy.

If Face ID is fast, I'll be really excited. I'm kind of sick of pressing the thumb print multiple times in order for the phone to maybe recognize me- Especially when my finger is wet.

Oh! Well ... that's nothing ... wait until you get the Face ID to recognize you at 5AM when you'd like to do a quick check on messages etc. :D

I see no safe way to unlock the iPhone X while driving. That's an epic fail for me and makes this phone simply overpriced at $1000 without any Touch ID.

I realize the fascinating gimmick factor to the iPhone X, but why pay more for a phone that's display will not last as long and has less features and practical functionality in real life situations I'd be likely to use the phone?

Yup. I was thinking about that as well during the presentation. I use the Touch ID frequently while driving. I doubt I'll be comfortable with Face ID in similar circumstances.

Maybe set your phone to lock “never” whilst driving?

edit: but i do see the dilemma if you need to unlock a locked app requiring face unlock.

Maybe Apple need a universal unlock all apps and phone mode for driving.

The leather folio for the X looks fantastic!

Screen turns on when you open it just like iPads, £99 though.

Take my money, lol.
