I agree. The best iPhone size got upgraded with top specs/features and the best iPad size got upgraded with top specs/features. They could have crippled both of them because of their small size but they didn't. They made them just as powerful as their big brothers.
Which could have been done in nov....

Remember when Apple used to make computers. Fun times, fun times...

model days since update

The margins are better on watch bands and re-done products. No need for any development, re-size it and the people will buy. Happy I didn't waste even a minute listening to this thing live.

Now if they introduced Liam in rose gold, I'm sure the store would crash by now... Pixar meets real life. I'd love one, not sure for what but it was COOL (unlike everything else really).

Apple's "Let Us Loop You In" event kicks off at 10:00 AM Pacific Time today, and we're expecting to see several product announcements including a new 4-inch "iPhone SE," an updated 9.7-inch iPad perhaps branded as an "iPad Pro," and a few updates for the Apple Watch line, although upgrades to the watch itself will not be coming today.

We're also expecting to see a full set of operating system upgrades today, as Apple has been beta testing iOS 9.3, OS X 10.11.4, tvOS 9.2, and watchOS 2.2 for several months now. Today's event is being held at the Town Hall auditorium on Apple's headquarters campus in Cupertino.

Apple is providing a live video stream on its website and via Apple TV.

[doublepost=1458589564][/doublepost]Yet another ho hum Apple event. I have been an Apple product user for a number of years and prefer their products to most of their competitors but have grown somewhat restless and dissatisfied recently with the direction the company seems to be going. The only really, completely new product Apple has released since the iPad in 2010 was the Apple watch which has turned out to be an overpriced luxury item that most people who have an iPhone (or any smart phone) can do without plus you need an iPhone for the thing to work and sales have reportedly been decidedly underwhelming. Today they introduce a smaller iPhone---Back to the Future anyone? Not exactly an earth shaking announcement. And does Apple really think a smaller iPad Pro is going to significantly increase drooping iPad sales? I own two iPads--one my wife sometimes uses and a Mini for myself so don't get me wrong--I think it is a useful device but for most people who have a smart phone and some kind of computer an iPad is just not necessary and most people who already have an iPad that works fine are not going to buy a new one. The iOS point release is certainly worthwhile but those of us who use MacBook Pros every day to get work done and other things that require more power or things that are just much easier to do on a laptop are wondering when Macs are going to get a major upgrade--was very much hoping the rumors about a new MacBook Pro with a Skylake processor would turn out to be true---but alas, it was not to be. I certainly understand why Apple devotes so many resources to their iOS devices since the iPhone alone accounts for about 70% of the companies profit but the Mac has been neglected for a long time and the Mac App Store remains a complete mess---most third party developers won't go near it anymore--thank goodness one can still purchase Mac Apps independent of the store. As far as the Apple TV goes, we--and most of the people we know--have a "smart" TV that comes with all of the streaming services available on the Apple TV BUILT IN; no need to buy another device, you just sign in once to the services you subscribe to and that's it--no need to sign in again as long as you own the TV. Or if you have a TiVo you can do the same whether you have a smart TV or not. Of course the only streaming service that is not built into a TV is iTunes. Why is that? Because Apple wants you to fork over $150 bucks or more for their device in order to watch movies you have purchased on iTunes on your television unlike say Amazon who don't care if you use their device to stream movies and TV shows to your television. So first you have to pay Apple for any movie you want to see, then you have to pay Apple AGAIN in order to watch the movie on your TV. Sure, you can attach your computer or iPad to an HDMI port on your TV and watch iTunes movies but it would be much easier if Apple would do what nearly all the other streaming providers have done and allow iTunes to be built in to new televisions.

I'm sure most journalists think this event wasn't worth the travel. Even if those new products were not leaked, it was pretty dull. These new products would have been a "side note" in an Apple event a few years ago.
It was a side note in this event. They even explained the camera again to lenghten the presentation about the ipad...

Wow, a bunch of you guys are just complainers. Just be happy they even had an event for you! All you do is criticize, talk trash, and make fun of everything. What a bunch of entitled people. Learn to be grateful.
Oh yeah. Thank you apple. Let's praise them for their efforts. We are soo lucky, we are the chosen ones.

But you missed out on all the funny comments here at the same time. I had a good laugh.

Looking at the camera, screen, and recording capabilities, the 9.7" iPad Pro really destroys its bigger brother. Wow. For what I use them for, a 256GB version could be my last iPad. Unless they do something crazy, like completely remove all (most) bezels - or years down the line iOS or whatever OS they're on grinding it to a halt due to processing requirements.

Apple doesn't know why it's needed. They know that everyone else is doing it, so they just roll with it. Nobody explained to them that you don't need it on a tablet.
6S camera, in a device thinner than the iPhone... no surprise it was going to protrude

Too me, now the must have item in their lines is the macbook pro........ iPhone is actually the first thing that I think I can let it go and replace with some other phones that can make phone calls and let me tether. to be honest, music I only listen to spotify now, occasionally photos i don;t see why I am paying 200 bucks more for a "better" iPhone camera. Most people I know sharing their photos somewhere else. -- point is there is really nothing that other phone cannot do or cannot as do as close anymore.... Only thing holds me back is the FaceTime audio for the international calls..... Maybe i will get the SE for a while.

And you can see w/o Steve Jobs, what a difference it can all make....

The big winner here is the Samsing S7 Edge
What? A pointlessly designed curved phone with an OS that becomes insecure after 18 months? No thanks.

The iPhone SE is a proper phone that at least has its design principals on using it as a voice phone. Right size, reliable, fast. Apple want all those iPhone 5S owners to upgrade. Mine has been a rock for the last 24 months. I'm moving up to a iPhone 6S tomorrow. If I don't like it, I will strongly consider the SE if I can't deal with the bigger size. 3D Touch really isn't a feature that blows everyone over and may not be strong enough for me to stay on the SE.

Also, it's a clever move to solidify the iPhone 5S style as a very good business phone. I'm sure it's been very popular at the entry point.

Funny how they made a point to mention that most windows users have computers that are 5 years old yet they neglected to mention that if you buy a Mac Pro today you are paying a premium for a "new" computer that is already over 2.25 years old. lol

Anyone knows name of the song right before the begining the show today, it was something like "i staple today" with beats1 music logo ... sorry english is not my main language so maybe i heard something wrong

This was worse than the event where there was a chinese lady talking over everything on the livestream.
That was actually pretty funny and memorable. This won't be memorable. I actually went ahead and did other things while watching. I never used to do that.

I actually like all the products presented. Really, there were few things presented today that I didn't want. I want some of their new watch bands. I want their health apps. I want the new smaller iPad pro. I want another Apple Watch. I'm interested in where they are going with Apple TV. I want one of the new iPhones for my kid. It means a me to be able to buy all these things from a company that is environmentally conscious.

But they are boring presenters. The speakers were very awkward and sounded uncomfortable. They need to trot out somebody with a bit more charisma or at least make these guys take a class in public speaking. Tim comes across well in interviews. He needs to bring that affability over to his presentation style more. None of these guys have Steve's instincts in putting on a good show. They need someone in their communications department that can help them do that.

And for the love of all things shiny, they need someone to get it through Tim's thick skull that no iPhone ever should have only 16 GB of storage or top out at only 64GB anymore. No. Just no... Not in 2016. 32 is a reasonable starting point.

This isn't a freaking starter phone. Maybe in China but the US users who held onto their 5's and 5s's take it seriously. That was just sad when they announced these great specs and then told us the storage. Ugh. Wish I was there in person to boo.
