No Mac love? Color me disappointed. :( I was looking forward to new MBP's, MBA's (if they're even still going to manufacture a new one), and MB's.

I agree with others that it does seem like Apple has neglected the Mac line lately. Apple should remember that the heritage of their company is rooted with the Macintosh, which is where it all started. Yes, iOS may make more money, but who does iOS have to thank? The Mac, where it all began. Where iOS was initially developed, and still is. XCODE, where apps for both the Mac and iOS are developed. The root of it all is the Mac, the old Macintosh from 1984 and onward. I dislike seeing Apple kind of treating the Macintosh like a red-haired stepchild.

Funny how they made a point to mention that most windows users have computers that are 5 years old yet they neglected to mention that if you buy a Mac Pro today you are paying a premium for a "new" computer that is already over 2.25 years old. lol

I think average span for windows is 3-4 years. They are giving windows PC a lot of credit...

Here's a thought for everyone that was dissapointed - I think you've come to expect too much from Apple. Yes, they had some larger releases in the years 2006-2011, but those were all new categories. Now they're in a phase where they are building really solid products, and I'm sure they have some new ones in their future product pipeline (they always do). iOS devices have always been updated in autumn and not in spring, so these are minor updates they could have just posted online, but they still decided to make an event to present other news. iOS 9.3 is a huge release for education, and yes, people should care about that, because the new features will also eventually be presented to other users as well (multi user support, for example). Not satisfied by that? Too bad for you.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

Also truly outing the Apple ecosphere as DISPOSABLE.

(which explains why they are so hung up on talking so much about recyclable products)

I don't really get exactly Why everybody saying this was the worst and most boring/underwhelming Apple Keynote ever??? And the funny thing is this is coming even from Apple fans!!

I thought it was great the Keynote especially with the new iPad Pro that was definitely the best!! :)

Come on we had this last time and the previous keynote before that one, please stop complaining and be more accepting and grateful guys!!!!:mad::mad::mad:

We are in the new era under Tim Cook(he is doing a awesome job) and stop living in the past with Steve Jobs!!

Tim Cook is doing a great job to contract how great Steve Job was. Even today, you look back the keynote Jobs gave, you will see a huge difference. And not just by the style, but also the concept he was conveying. I remember the days when Steve was introducing iTunes and scott was introducing the time machine. These features/products were totally innovative and cool compare with any competitors.. What do you have now days, size, pixels, speed...

Only thing that I like today is the true tone display in the new ipad pro. ... but thats about it....

Is that because that's the only thing we didn't know about before hand? What's wrong with the A9X chip, the support for Apple Pencil, the better camera, the smart connector, etc? We have seen them before and knew literally everything about the device before they announced it. Back then, not so much.

The content was fine. It's a good attractive product lineup. They just need to work on polishing up the presentation. I will complain all I like here. I will show my gratitude for what I do like with my credit card at the Apple Store.

Complain on the product, sure... not a damn keynote. The complaining here isn't on the products - it's because they weren't "entertained" or surprised enough - even though these same people clamor and run to every rumor out there. We're already discussing the screens on the iPhone 8, and the 7 isn't even a reality at this point.

This community forgets that it's not the majority of Apple users: everyone here is likely running TV/iOS beta software, so the announcement today was "yawn". Well, the other half a billion users who aren't are probably very excited. What were you expecting... "**** it, 9.4 for everybody!!!" Look at the articles on every site - even here - yesterday... most were titled "What to expect", or thereabouts.

WHY the bitching and/or gloom and doom conclusion jumping? S***'s annoying, and makes people look like whiny, entitled kids.

I think most people are complaining becuase they didn't announce anything exciting at the Keynote. Sure we all knew the iPhone SE and smaller iPad Pro was coming but that's all we knew. There is a multitude of other products in Apple's portfolio that a lot of people have been waiting a long time for Apple to upgrade, including every single one of their Mac products. Why didn't they announce anything new on that? Or anything new on their increasingly pathetic line up of Software products? People are annoyed because there is so much more they could have announced than solar panels in Singapore. Quite honestly what they did announce did not warrant a Special Event because it wasn't that special. They could have just released the products and not waste everyone's time with this not so Special Event.

Did you sit through it or review it after? Sitting through it was watching paint dry. Watching it afterward, that might have been a different experience.

that's a good point.

Guess Apple will just wait longer before I or anyone else [in the world] buys a NEW Mac Pro.

Special doesn't mean "magical". It was a worth while presentation to avoid confusion on the iPhone SE. It generates media buzz for new products and spelt out that they wanted to release another 4 inch phone with the latest stuff. A lot of people have called for it and especially with 5C having faded out; the tech media wanted to see what Apple's position was.

iPhone SE will be a hit. iPad Pro in the smaller form will be a hit and makes another lower grade product for the iPad line now pushing the older iPad Air 2 as the cheaper choice as an entry device in the 9.7" form.

I'm hoping all the Mac updates will all role in September. Just people are too expectant of Mac updates when that hardware requires less refreshes in the current market. Especially when sales are solid.

Now I know why I bought a Nexus 6P for $399 last month lol - My slow move away from Apple is accelerating.

Anyone for a 2013 $3,000 MacPro?

I feel you. I just bought a 6S not too long ago and hated the asking price but bit the bullet anyway for the 2GB of RAM and the >16GB storage I required.

But when I finally need to replace my Macs and there aren't any Macs I want to replace them with (i.e. today) the resulting PCs will make the iPhone enormously easier to part with. And that's not the type of ecosystem flip I take lightly or do often.

This was more or less a wee bit disappointing event. But as long as they keep selling, and people keep buying..

The problem is, they will keep selling on Apple's momentum. People like Apple now. Once they've spent all of that goodwill for some quick cash and nobody will buy their crap, the momentum will work in reverse. They could offer the best and most innovative thing ever made and people won't buy it because they associate Apple with outdated overpriced crap.

Anyone remembers the time when Apple still innovated computers...? Sniff! Those days when there was "one more thing" that e.g. came in a manila envelope...

The only Apple products I care about are computers and nothing newer beats the 2012 Macs. So Apple doesn't have a lot for me these days.

I remember keynotes for the original iMac, G3, G4, G5, xServe, etc. Apple STOOD for something back then. PPC vs Intel, Mac vs PC, iOS vs the rest, but I feel more and more that since apple:
- Gave up on solid enterprise offerings
- Turns a blind eye to Macs since they don't make as much $$$
- Touts "Pro" products that a REAL pro wouldn't use
- Reaching a maturity issue with iOS innovation

I sadly feel with Steve's passing, the pipeline for innovation has run thin here. I ditched iOS a year ago and don't miss it. The Mac platform is okay, but is an increasing lack of focus, and the iOS products don't compel me to run to the damn store.

June, like every year.

Very disappointing keynote. Like many others I feel the Mac and it's software have been sorely neglected in recent years.

There really is no excuse for not updating the Macbook Pro with Skylake now rather than June/July. All the components are available. Remember when Apple was cutting edge in Intel processors and new interfaces...? Now Windows laptops already have Skylake and Skylake Xeon, 32GB RAM, USB 3.1 and Thunderbolt 3.....

And the lack of updates for the Mac Pro is utterly shameful. Now 823 days. Not a single update since it was launched.

There's just no love for Mac users anymore. What will WWDC bring? Just lots of iOS 10 hype before the inevitable new iPhone.

[doublepost=1458589387][/doublepost]
[doublepost=1458589564][/doublepost]Yet another ho hum Apple event. I have been an Apple product user for a number of years and prefer their products to most of their competitors but have grown somewhat restless and dissatisfied recently with the direction the company seems to be going. The only really, completely new product Apple has released since the iPad in 2010 was the Apple watch which has turned out to be an overpriced luxury item that most people who have an iPhone (or any smart phone) can do without plus you need an iPhone for the thing to work and sales have reportedly been decidedly underwhelming. Today they introduce a smaller iPhone---Back to the Future anyone? Not exactly an earth shaking announcement. And does Apple really think a smaller iPad Pro is going to significantly increase drooping iPad sales? I own two iPads--one my wife sometimes uses and a Mini for myself so don't get me wrong--I think it is a useful device but for most people who have a smart phone and some kind of computer an iPad is just not necessary and most people who already have an iPad that works fine are not going to buy a new one. The iOS point release is certainly worthwhile but those of us who use MacBook Pros every day to get work done and other things that require more power or things that are just much easier to do on a laptop are wondering when Macs are going to get a major upgrade--was very much hoping the rumors about a new MacBook Pro with a Skylake processor would turn out to be true---but alas, it was not to be. I certainly understand why Apple devotes so many resources to their iOS devices since the iPhone alone accounts for about 70% of the companies profit but the Mac has been neglected for a long time and the Mac App Store remains a complete mess---most third party developers won't go near it anymore--thank goodness one can still purchase Mac Apps independent of the store. As far as the Apple TV goes, we--and most of the people we know--have a "smart" TV that comes with all of the streaming services available on the Apple TV BUILT IN; no need to buy another device, you just sign in once to the services you subscribe to and that's it--no need to sign in again as long as you own the TV. Or if you have a TiVo you can do the same whether you have a smart TV or not. Of course the only streaming service that is not built into a TV is iTunes. Why is that? Because Apple wants you to fork over $150 bucks or more for their device in order to watch movies you have purchased on iTunes on your television unlike say Amazon who don't care if you use their device to stream movies and TV shows to your television. So first you have to pay Apple for any movie you want to see, then you have to pay Apple AGAIN in order to watch the movie on your TV. Sure, you can attach your computer or iPad to an HDMI port on your TV and watch iTunes movies but it would be much easier if Apple would do what nearly all the other streaming providers have done and allow iTunes to be built in to new televisions.

Same feeling here, however I am enough of a realist to know that not every year a game changer can be launched.

desktop - done with that for 10 years . Buy one generation back of MBPs, will do me fine.
Bought the iPad 2 highest config and it is still going strong.
Watch - no!
iPhone skip two or 4 years, again after buying highest config at the time.
iCar - don't think so. i only do minivans and usually these get done last if ever.

I do think that Apple will be hard pressed to keep it's value or come up with something that is magical or revolutionary.

Today was the first proof of that.

Sleek design and thinner is not what we need these days.
