People have been discussing those icons for about a week since they appeared on the media invitation e-mail.
That topic has been beaten to death.
I can see why there's no live streaming. I mean, if every Joe & Jane could watch it as it happens, there would be no 'edge' for the press who attend (otherwise than, say, the usual hands-on with unreleased devices)

Not necessarily. Previously, the store would go down before/during events, and go back up with the new item afterwards. It would be listed on the store with all the pricing info, but instead of a link to buy it there would be a "Coming Soon" icon.
But I do hope it is available for pre-order today.
UK Apple store is also down.

ok, another hour. To those, like myself who think we'll be very disappointed later, please dun. Here's what we can do
In the meantime
- if release ip5 with new form factor, be ready to queue up
- if not, it only another 12 months, wait for ip6, sure will have new design with even better hardware and iOS6

- We can upgrade our ip4 with iOS5 and enjoy, it'll be interesting,
- Or explore upcomming andriod ice ream
- If dun mind, get the 4s
