$10,000 starting price for the Gold Edition Apple Watch? How much do you think the Apple electric car's premium will be? A $1 million starting MSRP? Lol

Go look up prices for 18kt gold watches. It's a limited edition. Burberry has 18kt gold watches with leather bands for $14,000.

The Macbook Airs, are still quoted as having the same battery life as before, Shouldn't it be much better with the new Broadwell chips?

wat

Actually he looked a bit embarrassed when he said it, in my opinion.

I thought exactly the same thing. I commented when he said it that it seemed as though he said it quietly and quickly. Im sure he tilted his head forward as well, almost in shame. I guess we'll see if any of us want to endure that keynote again on repeat. :)

Well that was kinda underwhelming. First they have presentations that show stuff available "today" that should have been delayed a few months (iOS-recent, Yosemite), now they have presentations for things that won't be available for a month or more. ???

I think the medical research stuff is the most exciting.
Apple TV pricing too.

Wish all of this stuff worked with an iPad, in addition to an iPhone.

Why is that? When it was announced at the iPhone Keynote their was wild, hooting, hollering and cheering. What happened to the enthusiasm today? It seems like reality set in.

It's not much different than when later keynotes on OS X, the iPhone, and iPad discussing additional details just, or right after they went on sale.

In short it isn't new anymore, just rehashed information, with a few more details.

I think it's obvious that not many people in this forum, myself included, has any idea about watch prices.

I haven't worn a watch in 20 years I think and the last watch I wore cost around 25$.

It's up to the Apple loyalists to make this a success. This was a lame Keynote. The audience sure didn't have the enthusiasm today that they did at the original announcement.

Wasn't it a different audience? People from the fashion industry and so forth? Possibly people from the medical industry? What do you expect? People to whoop and holler? That used to be embarrassing.

Fundamentally the iWatch is a peripheral.

Pricing it in the same price range as the main device (iPhone) is an awful idea. Nothing about today sold me on the watch, Instagram on a smaller more fiddly screen? nope. Sending my heartbeat to someone? Why would I want to do that?

Either this product makes it to 2/3 iterations before being canned or Apple is going to have to drop the prices significantly and develop an unbelievably new and fresh UPS for it. I can only see the first one being a huge success due to Apple-halo effect, then sales drying up quickly as word of mouth spreads.

Today solidifies my opinion Apple is becoming less and less focused on the 'core', professional Mac users as well. No update on the Thunderbolt display after 4 years? Nope. Multi-coloured 'cute' MacBooks? Yeah, apparently.

They seemed to be hocking the Sport watch the most. The video about its aluminum construction was really long and detailed, then there was the moderately long and detailed video about the stainless steel of the regular watch...and then he spent about 5 seconds saying that the edition version is made of gold and costs $10k.

Though I was surprised with how much you can do with the apple watch. I still won't buy one but it really seems a lot more functional than I thought, and especially compared to the pebble and android watches.

The Macbook Airs, are still quoted as having the same battery life as before, Shouldn't it be much better with the new Broadwell chips?

Much better appears to be ~20% or less which might be little enough that they felt it better not to bank on it. They're really conservative with their battery life estimates.

All the prices are now up and running on the Apple site.

According to the UK the stainless steel with the link bracelet will cost £819...not sure I can drop that on a SS when the Sport starts at £299...essentially they are charging £520 for the strap....REALLY

And now I watch as my AAPL stock tumbles. Tim Cook and gang you guys are clueless on certain things. As a fine watch owner of many brands, apple definitely got a little to full of themselves on how they priced the watches.

I think I'm gonna get an Android watch that is supposedly going to be ios compatible soon. Otherwise there's either the Pebble Time or Kairos Wafch for me.

"This is what Apple is all about" ???

Really?

In 1984, it was "The Computer For the Rest of Us."

Now, thirty years later, it's apparently "The Gold Watch for the 1% of us."
Those computers "for the rest of us" were quite expensive in 1984.

Tim Cook walking off stage..... Audience: Boy that was a real waste of time and still no Amazon Prime or CW Network app on Apple TV.
