Those computers "for the rest of us" were quite expensive in 1984.
LOL, quite right. 6000$, the first Mac we bought.

Have you ever priced a watch in a jewelry shop? $1099 for a stainless steel link band watch sounds about right.
The Macbook Airs, are still quoted as having the same battery life as before, Shouldn't it be much better with the new Broadwell chips?
Fundamentally the iWatch is a peripheral.
Pricing it in the same price range as the main device (iPhone) is an awful idea. Nothing about today sold me on the watch, Instagram on a smaller more fiddly screen? nope. Sending my heartbeat to someone? Why would I want to do that?
Either this product makes it to 2/3 iterations before being canned or Apple is going to have to drop the prices significantly and develop an unbelievably new and fresh UPS for it.
I can only see the first one being a huge success due to Apple-halo effect, then sales drying up quickly as word of mouth spreads.
Agreed. I was yawning at first when they started with the lack of an Apple TV refresh and a review of Health, HomeKit, and CarPlay. But the ResearchKit announcement took me completely by surprise and actually got me up out of my chair. That is going to be huge, and it establishes that Apple is focused on improving the world (using technology as the vehicle for change). The highlight of this keynote was research kit, at least for me. That more than anything else they featured today will going to shake things up.
...the Dell XPS 13, which maxes out at a 128GB SSD.
It's not much different than when later keynotes on OS X, the iPhone, and iPad discussing additional details just, or right after they went on sale.
I think it's obvious that not many people in this forum, myself included, has any idea about watch prices.
The mac updates were lame. I suppose I'm going to have to wait 6-12 months before they update the MBPs.
the space black are the expensive ones. $1099
Hey, at least they offer free shipping on the 10K gold edition.
Who here is gong to camp out for this?
Yeh, he's running Apple into the ground.
The level of drama on here is hilarious.
Where's 8.2?

The fact that it's open source really shows just how dedicated to it they are. Hopefully they will release more of these apps in short order. I'd love to see something that could apply to ALS research (something really personal to me). Stuff like this makes me proud to be an Apple "fanatic." Hopefully it does bring a massive positive change on the world!
