An apple laptop will last longer, the watch is the opposite.
I'm sure of that but they may not have the staying power of the iphones etc... We'll see. Personally, I don't like the way the actual "watch" looks on this device. So that will keep me away from it for now in any case. I too would rather have a very nice real watch instead.Lots of hate on this same forum for devices called the iPod and iPhone too, How did they turn out? Its Apple, the watches will sell out in a day.
And the Apple Watch would still be as much of a novelty (and a drop in the bucket) to those people, as would a Rolex. Since they likely already have a Hublot, Tag, etc, this would just be an other tick in their collection box.
Give it a week or two, it will change.
1000+ for a stainelss steel... do they even know what kind of a great watch you can get for that amount of money?![]()
New Macbook? Excellent. $1599 might seem a little steep at first, but that's only $50 more than the equivalent Surface Pro 3, and only $200 more than the Dell XPS 13, which maxes out at a 128GB SSD. It's pretty much in line with its direct competitors there, but in a snazzy Apple package.
The Apple Watch though? I ain't feeling it. It doesn't really offer anything new, like the iPhone and iPad did. Basically, it's a health meter and iPhone notification extension device that you can wear on your wrist. Instead of breaking new ground, it gives you a slight bit of convenience over what everyone and their grandma are already carrying around with them for the introductory price of $350.
...eh.
Tim Cook never looked or sounded more like a Snake Oil Salesman than he did today with the Watch.
Sad.
Has apple jumped the Shark?
Did he mention it's water resistance? I don't remember.
1. Not many, but enough.
2. If you are curious about the markup, you are not the customer for the gold watch.
Far from it, those 5k$+ watches have a unique state of the art mechanism that was put together by hand and it "just works" perfectly for many years to come. But apple watch trully has the same internals as some cheap android wear watch, it'll be obsolete in less than a year and the only thing they're really charging here is Gold and stainless steel band.
$549 for the watch, $500 for the strap? That's insane.
I love how Cook just glossed over the prices, $10,000, too much, too many laughs.
Exactly. A quiet reaction is the correct reaction.
I believe it was mentioned after the preview a few months back as being 3ATM water resistant, meaning that it is only safe against accidental splashing. It is not to be worn in the shower or submerged in water. Basically, it is safe to use if you're sweating....but only just.

Why is that? When it was announced at the iPhone Keynote their was wild, hooting, hollering and cheering. What happened to the enthusiasm today? It seems like reality set in.
Give it year or ten you still will have no examples.
One day...One day![]()
