I'm impressed, but I'm going to keep my MBP for pro-use. I can't revert to the form factor of a iPad. Regardless how developers are adjusting their apps for this platform.

Apple sells 18-20M Macs per year...it's not going anywhere for a while and they'll do it when the numbers tell them it's time.

Well this is Apple we are talking about so there will always be a major premium compared to PC OEMs. I'm happy they are offering us 4 and 6 core CPUs and up to 64GB of user-upgradeable RAM.

In four years the base price of the Mac Mini went up 60%. That's an annualized 12.5% in an industry that's deflationary during a time of near zero inflation (if we believe the fed). Its nice that this machine has increased capabilities at the top end, but the bottom end is the same or worse relative to its time.

So they're positioning the iPad/Pro as the new cheaper computing devices? That explains the Air's price hike

Talk about rigging a contest, between the high price of and low specs of the MBA, the iPad Pro will seem better, but still only for certain tasks and mostly just for consumption.
