I think the Apple Watch is a product you have to try first before you can decide whether or not it's for you. Hoping that Apple really thought through the functionality.

You're being ridiculous:

Thanks... that's what they told Steve Jobs when he came up with the idea of the iPhone.

As for being lazy? Yeah... that's what they told the users of the iPhone... that they needed a smart phone because they are too lazy to do it themselves.

The iPhone and its apps were designed because people are lazy. Proof in point... I can use my iPhone to pay for things because I'm too damn lazy to reach in my wallet and take out my credit card.

Come on smart guy.... get with the times.

Those are weird features to be passionate about but to each their own. you can already lock your phone down - been able to for a few versions.

I might be moving to the xperia, because I don't want such a big phone. I am the minority but I don't need a big phone. iPhone 5S was borderline, bigger than that and phone no longer works way I want. So sad...

I'm not really passionate about them. I'm just thinking 'outside the box'. Apple become the powerhouse it is today because it came out with inventions and ideas that were 'weird' or never thought of before.
Now they are just adding features that have already been around the block and trying to market it like it's a 'new thing'.

Let's be honest... when was the last time Apple actually came out with a NEW idea in one of their products?

But to pay $349.00 for something that has a battery life of one day and the only advantage is that you can "just wave your hand"... seems like a bummer.

If I am lazy enough to not be able to use my phone then a watch on the wrist isn't going to help either.

I would suggest you save your money and convince yourself to not buy one. No one else, including Apple, expects you to buy one.

Does anyone else not see the point of a watch that requires an even bigger iphone in your pocket?

No need to convince myself. I collect watches and have many of them and Apple watch will NOT be one of them!

Not buying the phones either as I am not into BIG phones!

Was honestly looking to see if there was a Mac Mini update, otherwise this whole drama was a dud for me, personally.

Apple expects everyone to buy it and that's exactly the point of this whole presentation! Which world are you living in?

Did you want it?

Would have preferred a lower cost iPhone (off contract) that matches up with others on the market to make me make a jump from Android but you can't have everything...

Thought they would have used a free album release from a band to promote iTunes Store lossless downloads not the phone and watch...maybe next time

So Apple shouldn't offer products that may be useable by grandparents and those that wear moms jeans? What's your problem?

False dichotomy much? We're not talking about entry level $99/free phones, we're talking about a flagship product that starts at $300 with storage that's half the competitions. $299 on contract (probably $900 off contract) for a phone with 16GB of storage is silly.

Where's the new U2 album?

As instructed, I go to iTunes to get the new U2 Sons of Innocence download and it's no where to be found. iTunes lists it as "Purchased" but it's not in my music library anywhere. All I get is 60-second previews of the songs. What gives?

I had a hard time getting it too. I think I went to the store in iTunes then on the right side there's a link to purchased items. It opens a different window than the "Purchased" link in the itunes menu. From there I was able to select it for download.

Now re-read your comments from the iPad introduction. They were all like "Why would I EVER need a tablet?!" and "This is just a big iPhone and you can't even call someone with it." and "This can't replace my laptop."

Now everyone has a tablet.

In a year or two, those comments here about the apple watch will sound the same :D

I found the Watch in the 70s...

And the gold model…

Clearly Apple doesn't see the Apple Watch as the "next iPhone." It sees it as an accessory, which is probably the right way to view the market.

No, it isn't the right way to see the market.
Never owned an iPhone & I never will. Why?
Because of the plethora of superb FREE telephony apps for iPad & iPod Touch.
There are a countless number of people who want to communicate
but who see ZERO need for dedicated phone hardware, what with the iMessage, Skype & FaceTime apps.

By not having Apple Watch as a standalone device, they're ignoring, and losing,
these potentional customers because it requires an extra something they don't want
nor have any intention of ever getting at any time.

I just saw it in my purchased list too. I'm not going to download it though.

It's in your purchased tab.

I just realized by doing this Apple probably spent $100M

Nice day for U2

Ha !

You posting from your Newton?

They showed you how the watch works. How many right sides can there be? Worn on the right wrist, it's impracticable. Jeez.

Flip it over so the crown is on the left side, and wear it on your right wrist.

The software will either detect the watch's orientation automatically, or there will be a setting to rotate the display image to the right orientation.

The bands are easy to remove and replace. It defies logic to think the bands wouldn't be reversible.

So:

On the left wrist the crown button is on the upper right and the other button is on the lower right. The buttons are easy for a right-handed person to use.
